The planthopper and leafhopper communities inhabiting various plant assemblages covering coal-mine dumps in the vicinities of Ruda Śląska city and Mikołów city (Upper Silesia, Poland; UTM CA46) are described. Plots , are described in details, with plant species and phytosociological groupment given, if possible. Dynamics of planthoppers and leafhoppers populations, dominance structure and diversity...
During the field research in various phytocenoses of Sosnowiec city in year 2002, altogether 98 species of planthoppers and leafhoppers, which constitute 19% of Polish fauna were found. The new species for Upper Silesia are: Eurybregma negrolineata SCOTT, 1875, Arboridia erecta (RIBAUT, 1931), Arboridia velata (RlBAUT, 1952), Doratura impudica HORVÁTH, 1897, Mocydiopsis attenuata (GERMAR, 1821). A list of aphids (Hemiptera, Aphidoidea) collected in Kosciuszko's park in Katowice is presented. Paper includes 40 data aphid species connected with 90 herbal taxa, mainly deciduous trees, as well as information about bionomy of the forms collected by authors.
The paper presents a summary of the knowledge about species of planthoppers and leafhoppers recorded from the mountains of Poland. Faunistic composition of particular mountain chains, as well as chorological and ecological composition is presented and analyzed.
Park Szczytnicki is the biggest park in Wrocław city, and one of the largest in Europe. On this area, 35 species of lichens and 1 of lichenicolous fungus (Lichenoconium lecanorae) have been found. Same of recorded lichen species, e.g. Bryoria fuscescens and Usnea hirta are rare and endangered in Poland, particularly in the cities.
The paper presents vascular plants and moss flora of the projected nature reserve Matunin, situated in a flood terrace of the River Odra valley. The research area is an oxbow lake called Matunin and its surroundings: alluvial meadows, fields and fragments of riverine shrubs and forests. A total of 15 taxa of mosses and 312 taxa of vascular plants were found, including 7 protected species and 28 species...
The paper presents results of floristic research of vascular plants in the nature reserve “Cisy” located near Bardo town in Bardo Mts (south-western Poland). Altogether 144 species have been found. Some of them are rare and threatened in Poland, e.g. Cephalanthera longifolia, Dactylorhiza sambucina, Neottia nidus-avis, Platanthera bifolia and Taxus baccata.
Vascular flora of the nature reserve “Skałki Stoleckie” rocks comprises 248 species, i.e. 122 forest and xerotherm grassland species and 126 apophytes and anthropophytes. Five of them, i.e.: Carlina acaulis, Viburnum opulus, Polypodium vulgare, Primula elatior, Convalaria majalis are protected by low and one – Gagea pratensis is threatened in Poland.
A list of 154 lichen species recorded up to now in the Kleśnica Stream Valley (Śnieżnik Massif, Sudety Mts.) is presented. As a result of the present investigations, 111 taxa growing on various substrata: trees, calcareous and siliceous rocks, soil, mosses and plant debris have been found.
