In this paper, we present a driving license test APP system for traffic education. The system provides learning materials and the adaptive simulation quiz. Questions in the quiz are individually generated according to the user profile and the designed boosting algorithm. The experimental result revealed that our APP system showed statistically significant better score in the driving license exam.
In this paper we illustrate a proposal with regard to providing learners adaptive micro learning experiences, which can be fulfilled within fragmented time pieces. The framework of our system is demonstrated, while it aims to deliver customized micro learning contents taking into account learners' specific demands, learning styles, preference and context.
This paper presents a new inexpensive portable learning platform for information assurance and security (IAS) education. Unique features such as affordable settings, portability, and isolated network are discussed. This project is developed based on open sourced or free software to minimize the implementation cost. A dedicated repository that hosts our findings and deliverables is freely available...
This paper discusses the efforts carried out related to the design and development of a web-based framework that allows designing, deploying and executing mobile data collecting applications. Furthermore, it also allows analyzing and presenting the data that is generated during the mentioned process. The fact that the framework is completely web-based provides a platform independent execution of the...
The present study investigated EFL adolescents' perceptions of mobile-assisted post-reading tasks. Five group-based post-reading tasks were implemented succeeding the participants' reading of science-related assigned books in a ten-week mobile-assisted reading program. In this work, we present a brief report on a pilot project based on the concepts of Mobile Remote Experimentation (MRE). The project aims to provide an environment and a model using open source tools that can be replicated, since these are likely to re-use and have low cost, essential factors when it comes to public education, that allows students to perform laboratory practices remotely via mobile...
This work proposes the use of interactive digital TV as an interface for access to remote experimentation laboratories, because remote labs can fulfill the purposes of experiments in various areas of education, and digital TV can be used with interactive applications. The proposal described in this paper was based on the interactivity features of digital television systems, as well as on the particular...
This article presents an alternative architechture implementation with the purpose of provide real experiments of remote access and expand teaching practices focused on experimentation toward physics education. The research uses a low cost open hardware and an available multiplatform with open source applications. With this initiative, lab resources can be accessed from schools, as many of them have...
