Deep learning using convolutional neural networks (CNN) gives state-of-the-art accuracy on many computer vision tasks (e.g. object detection, recognition, segmentation). Convolutions account for over 90% of the processing in CNNs for both inference/testing and training, and fully convolutional networks are increasingly being used. To achieve state-of-the-art accuracy requires CNNs with not only a...
Abstract—Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag and sensor combination has become increasingly popular in green projects. Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) is commonly used to enhance the performance of an antenna. In this paper, a new dipole AMC is proposed for 0.92 GHz Radio Frequency Identification tag application. The new square AMC structure optimized with multiple slots produced a bandwidth...
An analysis of frequency selective surfaces (FSSs) with high power handling capability is presented in this paper. Maximum field enhancement factor (MFEF) is applied to quantify the power handling capability of FSSs. The effects of various design parameters on the MFEF and frequency response of FSSs are investigated using split finite-difference time-domain (split-FDTD) method. It is observed that...
In this paper, we propose and design a coaxial-line fed slot array with a waveguide-to-coaxial transition using a crank-shaped slot. We analyze the 8×8-element trapezoidal array with the designed transition. The bandwidth for VSWR less than 1.5 is 2.1% in the waveguide for boresight radiation and 2.0% in the waveguide for tilted radiation from 77 to 81 GHz.
This paper presents performance enhancement of a conventional circularly-polarized (CP) microstrip patch array using anisotropic metasurfaces. In addition to boresight gain, axial-ratio and impedance bandwidth amplifications, sidelobe levels suppression were also focused.
This work focuses on the further reduction of the bandwidth usage of the Bloom Filter based SNMP by means of an additional compression scheme. The zip compression technique is used for the zip encryption and the zip decryption of the Bloom Filter. The experiment with compression ratio was done and the results show that the SNMP bandwidth that utilizes the proposed compression scheme is reduced to...
In this work, a cavity-slot, dual-polarized linear-cylindrical antenna array is proposed. The array is composed of 3 horizontal slots and 4 vertical slots at 3 GHz. The mutual coupling between a vertical slot and a horizontal slot is less than 30 dB, the average omni level ripple is 1 dB, and the average cross-polarization in the azimuth is less than 25 dB.
This paper describes the manufacturing and evaluation of a PMN-PT 1–3 composite based phased array ultrasonic probe for nondestructive evaluation (NDE). The electromechanical parameters of PMN-PT based 1–3 composites were measured and the composites were directly used in the acoustic stack manufacturing process (matching layer, etc.) similar to conventional PZT based probes. The performance of the...
This paper describes the design and analysis of a compact and efficient ultra-wideband unidirectional printed Array antenna for indoor applications. A 12cm∗12cm∗1cm array antenna is capable of covering an ultra-wide frequency band starting from LTE up to WI-MAX with an average gain exceeding 5dBi over the entire bandwidth. In comparison with the already existing antenna systems in the wireless market...
This paper presents the design of a low profile retrodirective surface composed of a frequency selective surface (FSS). The principle of operation of re-radiation and scattering from the array surface is outlined. A full-wave analysis of individual FSS unit cells and the assembled reflect array is performed to better understand and design the reflector. A commensurate array of unit cells with progressive...
Conventional slotted waveguide antennas are well known and prominently used for many military and even marketable applications. This is due to their different advantageous electrical and mechanical characteristics. It is also well known that this type of antennas is a typical array of slots with which the width of the main beam can be controlled in only one plane by using a different number of elements...
This paper presents a 10-channel optical receiver array for Near-InfraRed Spectroscopy (NIRS) Systems. Each channel consists of a replica transimpedance amplifier (TIA) followed by an adjustable linear equalizer (EQ). The replica TIA achieves a high transimpedance gain of 94.6 dBΩ and a bandwidth of 85 MHz. To obtain wider bandwidth, a two-stage fully differential equalizer with tunable capacitor...
In this paper, we investigate a preference-aware multicast mechanism in active array aided LTE (Long Term Evolution) networks. An active antenna system can direct vertical beams in different horizontal and vertical directions, so the amount of energy delivered is more concentrated on the target users. Employing the active array, each multicast group is provided with an individual beam with specific...
This work aims at estimating and comparing the power limits of ΔΣ and charge-redistribution successive-approximation register (CR-SAR) analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), in order to identify which topology is the most power-efficient for a target resolution. A power consumption model for mismatch-limited SAR ADCs and for discrete-time (DT) ΔΣ modulators is presented and validated against experimental...
In this paper for improving performance and reduce the delay of providing services in cloud network has been proposed method for load balancing of service flows based on local management of network resources. The method consists in opening/laying of through the tunnel between the data centers for associations and flows regrouping requests for service. As a result, it was proved efficiency the method...
Array-type reductions represent a frequently occurring algorithmic pattern in many scientific applications. A special case occurs if array elements are accessed in an irregular, often random manner, making their concurrent and scalable execution difficult. In this work we present a new approach that consists of language and runtime support and targets popular parallel programming models such as OpenMP...
Proposed chip designed a continuous time lowpass sigma-delta ADC including health transducer and wireless sensor on tracheostomy tube for intelligent networking in hospital. The measured results have achieved a dynamic range of 52 dB over a 5 MHz signal bandwidth, a peak SNDR of 55.33 dB and power dissipation of 24.5 mW. This proposed has built in near-infrared laser-driven (NIRLD) might be a promising...
In this paper we have clearly outlined the scientific importance of our work, also in the Square Kilometre Array project context. Section II goes through the main scientific targets and Section III targets the instrumental and technological requirement of the telescope. In subsequent papers, we are going to present a detailed design analysis of the instrument. Stringent measurements will be performed...
A prototype Mid-Frequency Aperture Array (MFAA), using Vivaldi antennas, was designed. This type of array is a contender for the MFAA of the Square Kilometer Array Phase 2, SKA Mid. The construction was made from scratch and it was low-cost. Sixteen antenna elements, made of aluminium, were erected on a wooden platform. The orientation allows polarization on the E-plane as well as the H-plane. Each...
We experimentally demonstrate multiple advanced functionalities of a cost-effective high-capacity sliceable-BVT using multicarrier technology. It is programmable, adaptive and reconfigurable by an SDN controller for efficient resource usage, enabling unique granularity, flexibility and grid adaptation, even in conventional fixed-grid networks.
