In this paper, we propose an energy efficient multipath congestion control protocol, called emReno. emRemo can shift traffic to the lower energy cost path without sacrificing the throughput and still guaranteeing the fairness and load balancing. The extensively simulations show the features of emReno as a common multipath congestion control protocol as well as its energy efficient characteristic.
Transportable nodes in a healthy and demanding network set-up of Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET) are self-governing with self-configurable potential due to high occurrence of topology alteration and changeable rescheduling of the network mechanism during data communication. Due to simplicity of set up, the energetic networking system in MANET is very victorious in conditions where it is complicated to...
Wireless body area network is an application of sensor network and open for research in our propose work we Firstly we begin with the round of transmission for selecting cluster head, for that we have to define a criteria that is based on specific energy values for selecting a node as cluster head, In the phase of selecting cluster head a probability distribution is utilized that is relayed on probabilistic...
Satellites give exceptional points of interest, for example, remote scope with fast sending, separation lack of care, transmission capacity on interest, safety to physical debacles, and offering broadband connections. TCP has been produced for wired systems that have a lower delay and a low piece mistake rate. It is the most usually utilized transport layer convention as a part of the Internet and...
Due to the simple technical implementation, lowcost network construction and high-bandwidth wireless link capacity, WiFi networks have become popular in the last decade. Nevertheless, WiFi networks have still facing various technical challenges such as load balancing, mobility support and channel adaptation. The emerging software defined networking (SDN) has now been proposed to address the above...
Mininet is a Linux-based network emulator that is particularly widely used for Software Defined Network experiments, due to its in-built support for OpenFlow switches. However, Mininet currently lacks support for wireless links. A recent work has addressed this limitation by using the real-time feature of ns-3 to integrate the IEEE 802.11 channel emulation feature with Mininet, which we refer to as...
The IEEE 802.15.4 standard for the Low Rate Wireless Personal Area Networks (LR-WPANs)is popular and widely used for many areas of applications. The standard uses slotted CSMA/CA protocol in it's contention access period (CAP) in the beacon enabled mode. The protocol adopted a Binary Exponential Backoff (BEB)algorithm. In this paper, we investigate the saturation throughput of this standard using...
In this paper, the achievable rate of buffer-aided diamond relay systems under delay constraints is studied. The effective capacity, characterizing the maximum constant arrival rate to the source while satisfying the end-to-end delay constraints, is obtained for fixed decode-and-forward (DF) relaying schemes and selective relaying protocols. A selection relaying policy that maximizes the delay exponent...
The latest IEEE WLAN 802.11ad standard guarantees the multi giga bit throughput which is highest in the Wireless LAN (WLAN) technology. The system designed for such high performance will pose enough design challenges to make them consume low power. This can however be achieved by adopting low power management and control block in the digital part of the System on Chip (SoC) like Medium Access Control...
In this paper, the increasing TCP performances on data loss issue over wired and wireless networks by employing TCP freeze technique is proposed. The wired and wireless networks are simulated in Network Simulation version 2 (NS-2). There are 2 transmission protocols which are TCP and UDP with the same and different packet sizes in the simulation network. For TCP, the packets are alternately transmitted...
Recently, some CSMA/CD-alike protocols have been proposed for full-duplex (FD) WiFi networks, in which users are able to monitor the channel and transmit data simultaneously so as to avoid data collisions and improve the spectrum efficiency. However, along with its benefits, the residual self- interference (RSI) brought by FD becomes a new challenge for the network. As the RSI increases with the transmit...
One of the main challenges on the next generation local wireless networks lies in providing scalable media access control protocols in order to support the predicted high density. Research results have indicated that the current backoff mechanism is ineffective for dense networks, even more under the foreseen growing charge for the next five years. This paper investigates the proposal of the contention...
Software defined networks (SDN) is perceived to have specific capabilities for utilization by network infrastructures automatically. The success of OpenFlow protocol is to decouple control plane from data plane completely. However, current SDN still regards the network as a group of devices rather than a holistic resource, and traffic monitoring and control only relies on network states but not including...
The worldwide mobile traffic is growing rapidly and more than 90% of the internet traffic relies on the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) protocol, which is known to have a poor performance over unreliable wireless networks. One of the promising TCP enhancement mechanisms that are being considered by the wireless network operators is the Split-TCP. It is also quite well known that the Split-TCP...
In multi-channel cognitive radio ad hoc networks (CRAHNs), packet fragmentation is impacted by new factors besides those in traditional wireless networks due to the unique CR functions. For example, spectrum handoff is the technique for a secondary user (SU) to continue its transmission when a primary user (PU) reoccupies its current transmitting channel. Then, a short frame is less likely to be affected...
Tactical networks is a heterogeneous network which facilitates information sharing and data exchange among military tactical force units. The tactical communication depends on factors such as network characteristics, communication media resources, operational mobility, terrain etc. The key challenge is to address typical military communication network constraints such as limited bandwidth and latency,...
Energy harvesting (EH) enabled relaying has attracted lots of interests recently, as the network energy consumption can be reduced and the coverage range can be extended simultaneously. In most existing literatures, the Harvest-Store-Use (HSU) model is utilized to describe the energy flow behavior of the EH system. However, the half-duplex (HD) constraint of HSU that harvested energy can only be used...
In a data communication network, several flows contend to utilize limited and shared network resources, however, this gives rise to congestion along with other network issues. So, this leads to the development of congestion control based methods/ protocols to support the deployment of real-time multimedia applications while ensuring reliability and fairness. This paper presents a simulation based...
TTEthemet is a real-time Ethernet protocol that was designed to not only provide a deterministically temporal behavior for hard real-time communication but also support all types of Ethernet-based traffic coexisting in the same TTEthemet network. TTEthemet switches using the Timely Block method can obtain the timely deterministic behavior of time-triggered (TT) traffic with a very low communication...
In this paper, we present a novel idea of multipath multicast, which is imperative to bandwidth intensive applications, in the context of multimedia streaming. In addition to congestion control, multipath TCP (MPTCP) has been proposed to establish multiple paths in a network to improve network reliability. Application-layer multicast (ALM) has been proposed to leverage end systems instead of dedicated...
