This paper presents cooperative routing scheme to improve data reliability. The proposed protocol achieves its objectives, however, at the cost of surplus energy consumption. Thus sink mobility is introduced to minimize the energy consumption cost of nodes as it directly collects data from the network nodes at minimized communication distance.
This paper is concerned with a crucial problem of MANET which is congestion control (CongClt). CongClt can be described as a mechanism used to control congestion (Cong) and keep the traffic below the capacity of the network. Many approaches have been proposed to overcome CongClt in Ethernet as well as in MANET. Controlling the Cong in MANET is quite difficult due to its fundamental characteristics...
Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) consists of biosensors which are used for health monitoring and diagnostic purposes. Moreover, the biosensors are constrained to the issue such as link quality, delay and multihop energy consumption. In order to overcome these issue an Optimized Fuzzy based Swarm Routing (OFSR) is proposed for WBAN. In this technique, first selection of best node is done based on...
In MANET nodes are power constrained, for the reason that nodes has operated with limited battery energy or power. The nodes in network are not communicated with each other because of early depletion of mode energy. The nodes which are completely lost their energy in network are not possible to further communicate with other nodes without the replacement or charge the battery of node in dynamic network...
Most existing mobile ad hoc network (MANET) routing protocols use the minimum number of hops as a routing metric. These paths tend to contain long range links that may degrade both throughput and reliability. Higher throughput can be achieved by using short but effective links. The main problem with existing protocols is that they use only receiver signal strength indicator (RSSI) value to assess...
In vehicular communications, the current standards can be applied for safety-related message exchange but in the future world, other new applications like autonomous controlled vehicles require more reliability and capacity with small delay. Moreover, the harsh communication environment is one of the most difficult challenges. The line-of-sight (LOS) component of the signal in inter-vehicle connectivity...
Underwater sensor networks (USNs) has many characteristics different from terrestrial wireless sensor networks (WSNs), such as dynamic network topology, unreliable acoustic communication, which increases the difficulty in energy efficiency and reliability of data transmission, for traditional WSN protocols are not suitable for underwater acoustic sensor networks (UASNs). Vector based forwarding (VBF)...
Wireless sensor network (WSN) is a network of small, low power, resource constrained devices distributed in a large area. The principle focus of such network is to monitor some well-defined phenomenon in the sensor field. Availability of low power CMOS camera has offered wings to WSN applications. Broadening the range of applications from monitoring to multimedia surveillance. Multimedia transmission...
Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) network is the capillary communication network for smart grid that does not only provide the data collection from each household but also delivers configuration requests from intelligent energy services. However, the smart grid network challenges like heterogeneity, large-scale, and distributed operation must be solved for reliable and stable smart grid services...
We describe the design, implementation and testing of the Component-Based Reusable Adaptive Mitigation (COBRAM) system, which is designed to mitigate attacks against control plane protocols at the MAC and routing layers of mobile wireless networks. The main parts of the COBRAM system are: (1) a set of extensible mitigation techniques that modify or extend a node's protocol components to resist attacks;...
In railway systems, human error has been defined as a behavior of the human operator which leads to accidents in railroad systems. During the last years, human error is an increasingly significant factor in train accidents.
With the research and application of wireless sensor networks are widely used in the medical field. It is put forward higher requirements for its reliability, flexibility and high efficiency. Changeable and unpredictable characteristics of the medical field environment are major factors that lead to the reliability decline in medical wireless sensor network. Finding a reliable path is an effective...
Wireless networks are becoming popular because of their ease of access and connectivity, especially the Ad hoc network, which can be setup in a minute and supports mobility. The ad hoc network is at very early stage, but evolving fast. Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a kind of ad hoc network consists of mobile nodes connected through wireless technology. It is open, decentralized, low powered and...
A mobile ad-hoc network is a wireless network such that nodes are move dynamically in network. In OSI network layer there is lot of attack but introduce only collaborative black hole and worm hole attack. A group of black hole node easily employed against routing in mobile ad-hock networks called collaborative black hole attack. When two malicious node is create a tunnel is called worm hole attack...
In this paper, we presents a routing protocol called Enhanced Hybrid Traffic-Aware Routing (EHTAR) to cope with the dynamics of Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) in urban environment. In EHTAR, an elected functional node called Junc-Tracker located at each junction is used to explore the real-time vehicular and network traffic information in each road segment. This information enables each Junc-Tracker...
Vector based forwarding (VBF) routing protocol is a location-based energy efficient routing protocol designed for underwater acoustic sensor networks (UASNs). In this paper a VBF-improved routing protocol is proposed, which uses not only the information of location but also the residual energy and the number of retransmission in last cycle to make decision whether to make data forwarding. According...
Reliability is a significant indicator measuring the communication IP nets' performance. When communication failure occurs in the net, net devices should make a quick detection of the status between contiguous devices, which leads to timely solutions to ensure the communication service. According to the real environment of remote terminal in command information net, under the premise that the two...
In Mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET), QoS protocols includes the intermediate nodes which have sufficient resources along the route, from source to destination. Nodes may turn non cooperative when they are running with shortage of resources, which weakens the effectiveness of the protocol. The proposed model (Uncertain Rule-based Fuzzy Logic QoS Trust Model in MANETs -FQTM) selects the nodes which are...
In order to increase the network latency and resolve the security bottlenecks induced by the camouflaged malicious nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks, the residual energy and trust values are used to form a secured clustering, the network lifetime is increased by using the backup nodes in order to distribute the load among the secured clusters and reliable multipath node disjoint route discovery algorithm...
Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) is a subclass of Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET). QoS routing protocols are fundamental part of VANETs that aim to provide services with guaranteed quality. Existing routing protocols of MANET can be applied to VANETs as well but they do not perform well under the dynamic conditions of VANETs such as, fast moving nodes and frequent disconnections in the network. In this...
