A context aware nursing support system to push right information to the right person at the right moment is the key to increase clinical safety under a computerized hospital. We prototyped a system which obtains context from positions of nurses and list of expected clinical procedures. A WoZ test showed that the proposed approach has potential to decrease incidents caused by information delivery error.
The gathering of knowledge and competences needed to accomplish work related tasks is carried out in several ways. It can be done, planned in the long term to brace oneself for a new area of responsibility or in the short term to prepare for a concrete forthcoming task or while working on a task. The latter two happen quite often at the workplace. In this paper, we present a context aware mobile application...
In this paper, we present our vision about Hajj pilgrimage experience that we assume to be offered within a smart city perspective. Following our proposed framework, the holy city Makkah will be a smart city where each entity related to pilgrimage will be connected through a smart city framework to offer all the services to each stakeholder in an efficient and smart way. The proposed framework will...
Adapting application to diverse/dynamic domains is required to enlarge pervasive computing use, to satisfy people demand in terms of continuity of services. In addition, the proliferation of smart devices, ubiquitous services motivate the need for a quick development of applications that support people in dynamic domains. Inappropriately, this quick development is often associated a discard of domain...
Learning service selection in context-aware ubiquitous learning systems is affected not only by human errors, those of sensors but also by the dynamic aspect of these systems. The service selection in these systems is based on the learner QoS requirements, needs. However, these latter are based on vague linguistic terms which should be represented by fuzzy set theory. To this end, we have proposed...
In the field of Marketing Augmented Reality (AR) has the capability to induct necessary innovation which can drive marketing in a user centric dimension which provides exploratory AR experience which is driven by user orientation due to context awareness. Context aware branding and customer preference marketing will present users to view marketing content at their own convenience and driven by utility.
Mobile context-aware computing is an essential component of the smart cities infrastructure. Attempts were made to develop a model that can effectively represent a system in device to support context-aware behavior. The purpose of this paper is to identify deficiencies of the previously developed model and propose solutions to improve it.

Urban search and rescue (USAR) missions can benefit a great deal from teams of mobile robots endowed with advanced perception capabilities. To effectively collaborate with humans, these robots should have situation awareness about their robotic and human teammates, for intuitive decision making. Moreover, robots should be able to contextually share information so that humans can benefit from augmented...
Context Aware Systems (CAS) support mobility of users and make context reasoning efficiently to provide relevant and real-time information. CAS should be particularly adaptive and aware by managing and responding properly to occurring events. Due mainly to the presence of numerous sensors and access to several communication networks, Context-awareness has been successfully included in the mobile device...
Ubiquitous Learning changing the existing paradigm of learning that is a learning process everywhere, every time and anything into the learning process right place, right time and the right thing, so that the determination of the appropriate content for the user and the system's ability to adapt to the user is important in ubiquitous learning. Context aware in ubiquitous learning can be used to achieve...
Several learning technologies have been developed over the years in order to help distance learning process. However, those technologies are still not enough to give the proper interaction between their users and the technologies themselves. It is caused by the absence of the technologies ability to give context based on their users conditions. When human interacts with each other, they understand...
Ubiquitous learning with context awareness uses contextual information to give a better service to users with a flexible and easy-to-manage way. Context awareness is able to provide suitable services to certain people. There are 10 context awareness parameters in ubiquitous learning; one of those parameters is strategic context. Strategic context is a plan that gives influence or impact towards the...
Pervasive Computing also called as ubiquitous computing where computing is made available to anytime and anywhere. It is very fast growing innovative trends in the field of Internet of Thing (IOT). Context Awareness is key part of pervasive computing. Context aware computing it means act of both sensing data from sensor and react according to sensory data. Context is nothing but information about...
Mobile communication is arguably the most ubiquitously used technology in contemporary world, evolving towards its fifth generation (5G). The key challenges being faced by present day mobile communication are growing number of mobile users and subsequent high traffic volume posed by them. Providing uniform service quality and best quality of experience (QoE) in such dense scenarios is a major motive...
Video streaming provided by Over-The-Top (OTT) service providers through a cellular network is a common usage scenario for many people today. While video streaming will work reasonably well in a stationary scenario, several issues arise for mobile users. For instance, travelling through short areas without cellular coverage, such as an automobile tunnel, will often result in quality degradation or...
Programmable context-ware services use context information and programmable networks technology in the provision of easily customised and personalised services, which can respond appropriately to changes in their environment. This paper presents one such service, which is used to enable the provision of VoIP services in crisis situations. This service, the context-aware VoIP (CaVoIP) service is built...
Context-awareness has gained an increasing popularity in ubiquitous computing environments as it allows automatic adaptation of protocols behavior according to context changes. Nowadays, wireless sensor networks (WSNs), deployed as a main appliance to gather contextual information, can benefit from their own context data. In such scarce resource networks, the concept of context-awareness can be exploited...
User interest acquisition facilitates customized service by figuring out user preferences in various areas, such as recommendation system and intelligence city. Mobile Internet enriches traditional user behaviors (such as who (user), when (time) and what (content)) by introducing where (mobility) into the analysis of user interest acquisition. However, user mobility is highly predictable, and user...
Data aggregation for VANETs is considered a vital building block for many applications due to its bandwidth saving potential. In this paper, we propose a novel context aware data aggregation technique for VANETs. The data aggregation is done by the cluster head based on the context i.e. vehicle speed and density to reduces the required bandwidth for periodic data dissemination. The proposed technique...
