This paper presents a modified PSO algorithm for solving constrained multi-objective optimization problems. Based on the constraint dominance concept, the proposed approach defines two sets of selection rules for determining the cognitive and social components of the PSO algorithm. The simulation results to the four constrained multi-objective optimization problems demonstrate the proposed approach...
The coverage control technology is the one of the basic technologies of wireless sensor network, and is mainly concerned about how to prolong the network lifetime on the basis of meeting user sense demands and network connection. Among this technology, localized area coverage algorithm in the study of area coverage technology is gradually attracting wide attention, for its less traffic and lower single-node...
In this paper, a 10-bit pipelined ADC for high frame-rate video/image capturing instruments and systems is newly proposed. The proposed pipelined data converter is attractive due to that the requirements of high frame-rate video/image capturing instruments and systems are successfully matched. Based upon the device parameters of 0.25 ??m 1P5M CMOS technology with 3.0 V power supply, all the functions...
In this paper, different approaches to calculate the characteristic impedance of slotlines by finite difference time domain (FDTD) method is presented. It shows that for non-TEM mode transmission lines, different definitions of Z0 yield completely different results. Then a more rational definition of characteristic impedance of slotlines is proposed. Result is obtained and compared with other definitions.
Compared with other multi carrier modulate systems, MIMO-OFDM also adopting this kind of technique, is prone to produce high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), which will result in frequency spectrum spread and in-band distortion enormously due to the nonlinearity of the high power amplifier. To this main fault in MIMO-OFDM, many scholars propose some new idea to overcome it. Based on SLM technique,...
A special mixed-order finite element is constructed. Based on the electromagnetic scattering principle, using these mixed-order prism elements, the finite element method is applied to the analysis of scattering by a deep open cavity. In this paper, the mixed-order prism element is elaborately described. And the example shows that the convergence rate of this method is rather rapid for the deep open...
A method for RCS simulation of spacecrafts is developed. The Keplerian orbit and its perturbations are discussed before a simulated trajectory is given. Based on orbital dynamics and Euler's transformation, the attitudes of spacecraft are determined and the incident wave angle is calculated. Then, a 3D model of spacecraft is constructed for RCS calculation through physical optics (PO) method. The...
This paper introduced linear frequency modulation (LFM) waveforms and proposed a new method based on the Wigner transformation and Hough transformation, the new method was used to estimate the number of targets contained in the LFM radar returns. At last we got the simulation result through experiments. The simulation results show that as long as the waveforms meet the certain conditions, the number...
This paper proposed a new risk assessment approach based on probability theory and presented corresponding warning strategy for intersection collision avoidance system. Simulation evaluation method was also addressed and evaluation criterions were improved. After an introduction of background and related works of risk assessment for intersection collision avoidance system, a probability model was...
Simulation is essential to evaluate the performance of large scale vehicular networks. It is logistically challenging (and prohibitively expensive) to run tests with more than a few dozens experimental vehicles. Given the critical role of simulation in the evaluation of VANET protocols in large scale scenarios, it is important to guarantee realism of the models. This paper focuses on the accuracy...
A key challenge of message forwarding in delay tolerant networks (DTNs) is to increase delivery rate and decrease delay and cost. When information for future connectivity is not available, opportunistic routing is preferred in DTNs in which messages are forwarded opportunistic (non-deterministically) to nodes with higher delivery probabilities. Many real objects have non-deterministic but cyclic motions;...
The folding and interpolating ADC has speed advantage similar to flash ADC with reduced complexity. The folding amplifier can be used to produce more than one zero-crossing point to reduce required number of comparators. This paper presents simple low voltage, low power folding amplifier with folding factor=4 for folding and interpolating ADC. The design is implemented using 0.13 um technology at...
Passenger transport terminals (PTT) is the cross point of the various transport modes and the place for the travelers to gather, disperse and transfer, so it is the key part of the city's passenger transport system. Witness2007 as a simulation software is constructed to model bus station in Tianjin Railway Station in this paper. Based on above analysis, the paper gave optimized scheme from the view...
A distributed system-level diagnosis algorithm allows the fault-free nodes of a system to diagnose the state of all nodes in the system. Diagnosis has been successfully employed for dependable network fault management. In this paper we present a new hierarchical adaptive distributed system-level diagnosis algorithm, Hi-ADSD with Detours which has latency at most log22N, but requires less tests and...
Silicon nanowhisker (NW) growth was investigated by Monte Carlo simulation. Dependence of NW growth rate on radius R was obtained. Growth rate was found to be proportional to 1/R2 for diffusion growth mode and radius independent for adsorption mode.
A simple scheme is given for the realization of a voltage mode four-phase sinusoidal oscillator (VMFPSO). Using this scheme a VMFPSO employing second-generation current conveyors (CCIIs) as the active devices with grounded passive components is realized. The VMFPSO is then transformed into a dual output current conveyor [DO-CCII]-based voltage mode eight-phase sinusoidal oscillator (VMEPSO) by replacing...
Multicast is the ability of a communication network to accept a single message from an application and to deliver copies of the message to multiple recipients at different location. With the development of Internet, multicast is widely applied in all kinds of multimedia real-time application: distributed multimedia systems, collaborative computing, video-conferencing, distance education, etc. In order...
This paper demonstrates the strong power savings of IBM's commercially available 45 nm high performance SOI technology on a standard ARM core compared with bulk CMOS low power technology. The benefits are shown for a typical design point for an ARM 11 implementation in mobile phone application. The implementation used standard SOI libraries from ARM and EDA tools.
In the paper, to solve the problem that some existing methods of separating the weak signals from mixed chaotic signals have to use certain priori knowledge of chaotic signals such as the inherent properties, a FastICA method based on the negentropy is employed to separate the weak signals from the unknown mixed chaotic signals blindly. According to the maximum nongaussianity which is one of the basic...
Conventional large photovoltaic (PV) array consists of several PV modules which are series-connected firstly then connected in parallel. PV system with the conventional large PV array is complicated and the efficiency of the output power is low. In older to overcome the above disadvantages, this paper proposes a micro PV system structure, which three PV modules connected only in series and provide...
