In this article we'll tackle the control of multi-motors electric drives with high dynamic, with rapid changes in torque and speed, with rigid coupling of motors, where the control strategy is FOC (Field Oriented Control) for each drives and the distributed control in local network using the CanOpen protocol. In the surface mining industry, from which the electric drive application for this article...
This paper presents a backstepping nonlinear control algorithm based on the field-oriented strategy of the induction motor drive. The control design of the IM is based on the reduced model (dedicate for the fault diagnosis) of the squirrel rotor cage in healthy state. Backstepping technique is suggested for obtaining good dynamic motion control systems by replacing the traditional PI controllers....
This paper proposes a super twisting sliding mode control technique for linear induction motors (LIMs) with unknown load torque, taking into consideration the dynamic end effects. First, LIM's dynamic end effects are presented by Ducan's T-model, then following this model is controlled by a designed super twisting controller (STC) for flux tracking and speed tracking purpose. Simultaneously, an open...
Paper presents MATLAB Simulink model of symmetrical six-phase motor controlled by six-phase frequency converter and analyses its dynamic performance in volts per hertz mode. The new control blocks were elaborated, because Simulink library has no blocks for six-phase motor control. The new reference frame transform blocks were designed for six-phase motor. The experimental stand to validate simulation...
In some cases, such as restarting after power interruption or starting a motor rotated by external load, the motor may be rotating before being powered by the inverter. For speed-sensorless operation, as both the initial rotational direction and speed is unknown, it would be difficult to achieve smooth and fast resumption of normal operation if the starting scheme is not deliberately designed. In...
This work represent induction motor modeling from its dynamic equations. The switching table base DTC(ST- DTC) is implemented to the dynamic machine model for 2 level and 3-level voltage source inverter. Out of 27 switching vectors of 3-level inverter, 12 active vectors are used for simulation of DTC with 12 sectors. For reduction of torque ripple a five level torque comparator is proposed. A comparison...
This paper presents the power loss identification of the three-phase induction motor. The power losses are considered in the model of three-phase induction motor called the power loss model. The artificial intelligence approach called the adaptive tabu search is used for the power loss parameters identification. The results show that the proposed algorithm can identify the optimal values of the power...
This paper represents two methods of speed estimation by using indirect vector control of three phase induction motor drives. One of the methods is called model reference adaptive system which is compared with the reference adaptive model. The second method is Luenberger full order observer which calculates all the states of induction motor in the system. The proposed observer gain selection eliminates...
This paper present the new technique of calculating the stator flux. The method comprise of new integrator technique by virtue of which the errors which occurs in case of pure integrator can be eliminate. The pure integrator which is already present in the conventional direct torque control method (DTC) have several bugs which can be eliminate by this new integrator design. Offset error occur in conventional...
The polyphase induction motor is the most widely used ac motor because of its numerous advantages like low in cost, simple & rugged construction, absence of commutator and good operation. In the recent past Multilevel inverter technology has emerged as very important alternative in the area of high power, medium voltage control. By using these inverters we can change the frequency levels of induction...
In order to simplify the commutation in the virtual rectifier, a zero current commutation model predictive control (ZCC-MPC) method is proposed for the induction motor drive system fed by indirect matrix converter (IMC). Switching states combination is adopted in the virtual inverter instead of single predictive switching state, which ensures that the inverter stage keeps at zero voltage vectors during...
This paper proposes a transformation matrix to generate Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signals for Four Switch Three Phase Inverter (FSTPI) using vector control. The feasibility of the control strategy is verified by proving the power invariance before and after the transformation. Simulation and experimental results have verified the validity and effectiveness of the proposed method to obtain instantaneous...
From the point of view of simple construction and high efficiency, the majority of all installed motors are induction machines (IM) today, therefore IM have found your place as drives in a lot of applications. At the beginning of the twenty-first century, the significant attention is paid research and development of high speed induction machines, their design, overall drive concept and used materials...
Electrical motors have been used for more purposes for several industrial applications. The operational behavior of an electrical motor in an industrial environment plays a major role in terms of controlling, monitoring and measurement. The energy efficient becomes a necessary consideration for analysis of speed control of electrical motor. The different papers have been published in the above mentioned...
The Field Oriented Control (FOC) and the Direct Torque Control (DTC) are the well-known control strategies in the modern AC systems nowadays. However, both of them have a number of limits, such as the dependence on machine parameters of the vector control and the high ripples of DTC. This work presents a hybrid control strategy for induction motor (IM) based on the combining of the two techniques...
Adaptive control of the research object is the uncertainty of the system to a certain extent, so-called “uncertainty” here refers to describe the mathematical model of controlled object and its environment is not entirely sure, including some unknown factors and random factors. Adaptive control and regular feedback control and optimal control, is also a kind of control method based on mathematical...
In order to solve the problem of the speed response and system buffeting for a bearingless induction motor (BIM), which is subjected to various interferences and uncertainties, as well as the worse convergence performance of linear sliding mode and the singularity of terminal sliding mode, a nonsingular fast terminal sliding mode control strategy is proposed. Taking the power function of system state...
To implement the optimization of operating modes are considered the expediency of the choice of the electric type, optimal operating conditions. Energy efficiency mode in the system of automatic control of electric drives.
In present work a modified MRAS for induction motors is presented. Associated with vector control, the speed estimation performances are improved especially at low speed. Lyapunov theory based controllers is used to design the controllers of the vector control. Robustness against the parameter variations and the low speeds mode is proven. The experimental tests are conducted using dSPACE DS1104.
The field oriented control (FOC) can provide the same performance as is achieved from a separately excited DC motor. However, this technique requires the mechanic sensor to determine correctly the orientation of the rotor flux vector and is very sensitive to the variation of motor parameters, results in an undesirable coupling between the flux and the torque of the machine, and loss of dynamic performance...
