In this study, the characterization of bituminous coal, sub-bituminous coal and bottom ash from a coal fired power plant was performed. Moisture content, loss of ignition and heat of combustion for the coals and bottom ash were determined. The results show that sub-bituminous coal has high percentage of moisture content and loss of ignition with 18% and 80.49% respectively. Loss of ignition indicates...
Mercury is one of the factors harmful to the environment. As mercury has quite strong volatility, it will be easily emitted into the atmosphere when the coal is burnt which will then pollute the atmosphere, water and soil and cause danger to living beings. Pyrite in the coal is the main carrier of mercury but other sulfides and clay minerals may also contain mercury which causes the content of mercury...
The impacts on environment of coal-fired thermal power plants are associated with combustion products discharged into their surrounding. To summarize the mobility rule of trace elements during the combustion process of coal and make clear the migration mechanism in Huainan thermal power plants, the content of elements was determined by ICP-AES and HG-AFS. In the case of Huainan thermal power plants,...
With the coal consumption increasing gradually, coal blending is becoming a routine work in power stations. Due to the fluctuation of the coal quality, coal blending is in fact an optimization problem under uncertain conditions, so that it is difficult to solve with the traditional linear programming model. On the other hand, BP neural network, a nonlinear optimization tool, has been successfully...
Contraposing the indeterminable problems such as fuzziness and diversification which influenced the slagging of coal ash, grey cluster decision was applied in evaluating the slagging properties of the power generation coal in the paper, combined with the fuzzy TOPSIS method. In the paper, the four indexes of T2, SiO2/Al2O3, B/A, G(the rate of Si) of 13 kinds of power generation coal were evaluated,...
This paper presents a investigation of pollution originating from coal ash in Jingangshan thermal power station Jiangxi province China. About half of coal ash obtained by coal combustion in the power plant is mixed with ash-flushing water (most of the ash-flushing water from Ganjiang river) and transported to the ash field through the pipeline. In order to assess pollution caused by leaching of some...
The main goal of the current concept approach is the search for the scheme solutions on the basis of complex demands to ecological and economical problems of the power plant with the advanced technologies of combustion and flue gas cleaning, waste utilization and closed drainage cycles, and final development of the energy-agriculture complex on the basis of the power plant. The ecologically responsible...
