This paper reports a newly developed z-axis capacitive accelerometer with high durability to impacts. Our accelerometer has a unique sensing mechanism by which the displacement of an inertial mass caused by an acceleration in the z-axis direction is converted into the rotational displacement of a pair of detection plates. Our accelerometer has a high degree of design freedom in terms of selecting...
The design of high performance circuits implies to manage CAD tools with physical level defined indicators. In this paper, we validate a design space exploration method, defining maximum and minimum delay bounds on logical paths. Then we adapt this method to a "constant sensitivity method" allowing to size a circuit at minimum area under a delay constraint. Three techniques are characterized:...
A novel closed-loop fibre-optic current sensor based on the Faraday effect is described which maintains a constant sensitivity to AC currents in the presence of large quasi-DC and low-frequency current fluctuations. A Verdet constant of 2.55?10?6 rad/A (at 0.83 ?m) is reported for the fibre used.
