Online, interactive textbooks utilizing multimedia are continually gaining popularity in computer science courses. We present a system for automated analysis that can harness the power of these textbook and practice systems to provide information about high-level conceptual understanding to educators. The system presents a visualization using data logged by an interactive textbook to provide numeric...
The extensible Markup Language (XML) has known since its beginnings an undeniable success. Defined since its origins as a meta-language facilitating the development of specialized tags Languages, nowadays, many documents benefit from the XML frame. But even if this language is strongly used in the web as a way of data exchange between applications, it still lack the capacity of defining the web resources...
This paper presents an isolated bidirectional single-phase AC/DC converter using a soft-switching technique. The AC/DC converter consists of a single-phase matrix converter, a high-frequency transformer and an H-bridge converter. The authors propose the soft-switching control for all switches. The efficiency improvement of the proposed converter using the soft switching technique is verified by experiments.
The purpose of this paper is to present an estimation method of an optimum capacity of a storage battery system by combined use of a renewable energy and emergency generators (EGs) installed in a large hospital The hospital is planning to install a photovoltaic power generation system (PV) due to reduce a cost of the power. When the PV is installed, the battery is also to being planned for stable...
This paper presents a comparison of optimum energy scheduling of emergency generators (EGs) of a large hospital with renewable energy system using mathematical programming methods. A large hospital has the EGs to keep a medical service when a power failure occurred in disaster In using the EGs, the hospital has to save the fuel consumption in island operation mode to drive the EGs as long as possible...
This paper describes an RDF data model for repositories concerned with managing various aspects of the life cycle of research outputs, such as articles, data sets or learning objects. Using the figshare application as a use-case and starting from its relational model, it proposes a new mechanism for storing, enhancing and disseminating metadata, using workflows specific to the linked data ecosystem,...
Today, fare collection systems are quite widely used in public transport vehicles. The public transportation system managers need to follow numbers of people in the vehicle instantaneously. Information such as passenger movement in bus stops, the occupancy rate of routes, the number of stowaways can be achieved with passenger counting systems. The number of boarding on vehicles can be obtained with...
In this paper, we introduce a defensive cybersecurity framework called Cybergrenade automating various penetration testing tools to sequentially exploit machines connected to a single local network, all underneath a single application running on a Single-Board Computer (SBC). This takes advantage of the SBC's unique capabilities in a way that manual exploitation simply cannot match. Currently, while...
e-Invoicing Application in Turkey has been implemented since 2010. But after 2014 it has reached widespread usage by government regulation and as of 2017 the number of e-invoice users has exceeded sixty thousands. Generating invoices according to a single standard in electronic environment has made it easier to analyze and inspect through the data. In this case, the analyzes can be performed on the...
Semantic similarity of texts is one of the important areas of Natural Language Processing, and there are several approaches to measure similarity: statistical, WordNet based, and hybrid. For all of these approaches, a lexical knowledge is used such as corpus or semantic network. WordNet is one of the most preferred and mature lexical knowledge base. In this study, we have focused on measuring semantic...
With the extensive application of industrial sensor networks in the embedded field, the interconnection communication between the embedded node is proposed for the cross-LAN/WAN communication needs. Traditional communication schemes using proprietary protocols and sink nodes do not fully meet the interoperability needs. Web Services technology has the characteristics of openness, platform interoperability,...
In this paper we present an approach for the automatic generation of simulation workflow diagrams used for system verifications. By using this approach, the system engineer can specify the verification components at the system development phases. The workflow description is generated with an algorithm that converts the system level specifications to XDSM diagrams. These diagrams help in the communication...
With the prevalence of Android-based mobile devices, automated testing for Android apps has received increasing attention. However, owing to the large variety of events that Android supports, test input generation is a challenging task. In this paper, we present a novel approach and an open source tool called EHBDroid for testing Android apps. In contrast to conventional GUI testing approaches, a...
Reducing the test input given to a program while preserving some property of interest is important, e.g., to localize faults or to reduce test suites. The well-known delta debugging algorithm and its derivatives automate this task by repeatedly reducing a given input. Unfortunately, these approaches are limited to blindly removing parts of the input and cannot reduce the input by restructuring it...
In this paper we present a new, very large, rich, Comprehensive Scholarly Corpus (CompScholarCorp) as a platform and data source for future research. Our corpus contains records of 1,044,454 papers, 472,365 unique authors, and substantial publication meta-data for each record. We have integrated the data we collected from 276 publishers using a uniform and consistent XML data format within the corpus...
Malfunctioning areas and various business-IT mismatches encumber the achievement of strategic alignment. This paper deals with the concept of misalignment, with special attention to enterprise architecture (EA)-based analytical potential. In this paper, an analytical solution is tested in form of a case study at a road management authority. The study proposes a rule-based framework to reveal the symptoms...
While flow charts are one of the best ways to describe a computer program, drawing process is a laborious task for developers. This study describes an open source Javascript library named obfc.js, which we have developed to facilitate this task. This library generates SVG output on the client side for modern browsers and allows easy creation of diagrams and links. Moreover, it allows you to link click...
In the near future, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) energy trading is expected to contribute potentially in expanding popularity of small-scale Distributed Energy Resources (DERs). This will arguably create new markets (a new business model). Storing energy for future use is still considered to be an expensive solution. Therefore, establishing a cooperative network among the energy producers and consumers would...
The vehicle digital cockpit system aims to provide driving information, diagnostic information, and convenience information of a vehicle to a driver in real time through digital display devices. The analog cockpit system is hard to change the layout due to its hardware-specific features. In contrast, the digital cockpit system can selectively provide various information suitable for the driving situation...
According to GJB6600, this paper firstly analyses Interactive Electrical Technical Manual's (IETM) read and use, and puts forward an independent and controllable IETM reader platform framework and software realization technical architecture, which is based on GJB6600 and satisfied national safety and confidentiality requirements. Then design IETM reader platform framework. Some key techniques are...
