The Rogowski coil is an old device for current measurement. It has been modified and improved over a century and is still being studied for new applications. The Rogowski coil has various advantages over conventional magnetic current transformers (CTs). Not only can it be used instead of CT, but also it has various utilizations in other fields. This paper provides a brief review on different aspects...
We show the measurements of current plateaus performed with the complete quantum metrological triangle (QMT) experimental set-up. This current is generated by a three junctions metallic R-pump and verifies theoretically the equality I=Qx.fSET. Qx denotes an estimate of the electron charge in our single electron device and has been measured as a function of the pumping frequency, fSET.
This paper presents a simple resistance bridge dedicated to measuring a pair of 51.6 kΩ resistors (which form part of a quadrature bridge) directly against a quantum Hall effect (QHE) reference. It uses a room temperature current comparator of ratio 4, operating with low frequency AC in the range 1 to 10 Hz, and is energized from a single supply in place of the traditional double current source. The...
A high intercept points, cost-effective, and power-efficient switching FET double balanced mixer (DBM) is reported. The Switching FET DBM demonstrated in this work offers input intercept points (IIP3) and conversion loss typically 44 dBm and 8.5 dB respectively with 15 dBm LO power for the frequency band (RF: 900-2150 MHz, LO: 850-1950 MHz, IF: 50-200 MHz). The measured interport isolation is typically...
An improved method for measuring the current amplification factor, ??, of transistors is described. This method combines superior accuracy with ease of operation and use of simple apparatus readily available in most laboratories. It is peculiarly adapted to junction type transistors as the quantity (1-??) rather than ?? is measured. Hence, precision of measurement of ?? is increased as ?? approaches...
