The TPA-induced strong nonlinear scattering was observed in colloidal cadmium selenide quantum dots at 775 nm by using a 150 fs laser. The physical origin and the possible photonic applications of this phenomenon were discussed.
We demonstrate holographic assembly of CdSe quantum dots in photopolymer films for fabricating 1D photonic lattice structures with diffraction efficiency near 100%. The nonlinear optical properties of the films are also investigated by z-scan techniques.
Effects of host and particle shape on the third order optical nonlinearities of CdS nanorods and CdS nanoparticles were investigated by using Z-scan technique with nanosecond pulses at 532 nm. The experimental results show that the third order optical nonlinearity of CdS nanorods/N, N-dimethyllformaide(DMF) suspension is greater than that of CdS nanoparticles. Experimental results show that CdS nanoparticles/water...
Two- and three-photon absorption and excitation properties of CdTe/CdS/ZnS quantum tripods in chloroform have been investigated by using ~160-fs laser pulses in the spectral range of ~(1150-1650) nm. The two- and three-photon excited up-conversion emission is located around 740-nm position; the emission intensity follows the square law and cubic law on the excitation intensity for the former and the...
This work discusses an experimental demonstration of the interaction between individual nanocrystals (CdSe quantum dot as well as NV color centers in diamond) and chemically synthesized silver nanowires. Here, single photons emitted by nanocrystals are collected and guided by conducting nanowires. Moreover, this study describes and demonstrates a novel hybrid optoplasmonic approach for efficient conversion...
We observed second harmonic generation from semiconducting CdTe(CdS) nanocrystals with a diameter below 15 nm. Their submicron size, high nonlinearity and orientation sensitive SHG response are adapted for ultrafast, high-resolution probing of optical near-fields.
This paper investigates the effect of the dopant on the photoluminescent spectrum of quantum dots and we used a confocal spectral laser scanning microscope (CSLM) to investigate CdS:Mn nanoparticles within thin films. On the other hand study regarding nonlinear optical properties such as third harmonic generation (THG) was done using the 4pi microscope to reveal the nonlinear behavior of semiconductor...
An attempt is made to study the photo emission from quantum wells (QWs) of non-linear optical materials on the basis of a newly formulated electron dispersion law considering the anisotropics of the effective electron masses, the spin-orbit splitting constants and the presence of the crystal field splitting within the framework of k,p formalism. It has been found taking quantum confined CdGaAs2, Hg...
We performed time-resolved luminescence and polarization-resolved pump-probe experiments in CdSe/ZnS nanocrystals (NCs) under low and high excitations at room temperatures. At high excitations, the PL spectra shows a red shift (0.54 meV) and two-step decay. In pump-probe experiments, we observed very fast spin-flip process (~1 ps) and population oscillation, which is attributed to the Rabi oscillation.
CdSe QDs in sol-gel films are promising for nonlinear optical waveguide devices. We measured the two-photon absorption (TPA) coefficient at 820 nm in such films, and TPA-induced fluorescence over the 730-980 nm wavelength range.
