The selection of optimum parameters in electromagnetic design usually requires optimization of multimodal, nonlinear functions. This leads to extensive calculations which pose a huge inconvenience in the design process. This paper proposes a novel algorithm for dealing efficiently with this issue. The proposed algorithm interprets the problem as an unexplored terrain for climbing. Through the use...
The principle of material damage and the Cockroft-Latham damage model were demonstrated. The finite element simulation combined with fracture criterion has been performed in order to predict fracture. An optimisation method for the helical gears precision forging was proposed based on the finite element method(FEM) and Taguchi method with damage minimization. The maximum damage value of all element...
A low cogging force permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) having 9 pole 10 slot structure is presented in this paper. An optimization strategy employing Kriging model and genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed to reduce the detent force for high precision purpose application. In this optimization method, the uniform sampling technique is used to obtain the sampling points in the design space,...
This paper introduces an optimal design procedure for an in-wheel interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) to achieve wide speed range. For algorithms, the Kriging model based on the latin hypercube sampling (LHS) and genetic algorithm (GA) are applied. The optimal model has an increased wide speed range with reduced cogging torque.
