A monochromatic THz radiation source with broadband tunability utilizing N-benzyl-2-methyl-4-nitroaniline (BNA) crystal has been developed. BNA quality was improved by applying solution growth method instead of melt method. BNA-THz source using difference frequency generation was further optimized.
In the present paper, we report the generation of mid-IR short-pulse in spectral range of 10 ~ 40 mum (7.5 ~ 30 THz) using DAST(4- dimethylamino-N-methyl-4-stilbazolium tosylate) crystal and the difference frequency is generated.
Organic nonlinear crystals are most promising materials for efficient THz wave generation using DFG as well as TDS. Two kinds of organic crystals : 4-dimethylamino-N-methyl-4-stilbazolium tosylate (DAST) and N-benzyl-2-methyl-4-nitroaniline (BNA) are investigated for ultrawide THz-wave generation. New THz applications will be presented using frequency-agile THz sources.
We demonstrate widely tunable terahertz-wave generation using difference frequency generation (DFG) in an organic N-benzyl-2-methyl-4-nitroaniline (BNA) crystal. The frequency tuning of the BNA-DFG was obtained between 0.1 and 15 THz.
Effective and widely tunable THz-wave generation using difference frequency generation in an organic 4-dimethylamino-N-methyl-4-stilbazolium tosylate (DAST) was demonstrated by optimization of optical wavelength with respect to each THz-wave frequency.
Summary form only given. In this study we performed a comparison in the performance of two laser based spectroscopic techniques operating in different spectral regions for investigation of mono-(MMA, CH3NH2) and dimethyl (DMA, (CH3)2NH) amines. A near infrared (IR) system in the region of the first overtone of the N-H stretch vibration based on a cw cavity ringdown (CRD) detection technique and a...
In this paper, we demonstrate a greatly improved octave spanning 1 GHz Ti:sapphire laser (Fortier, 2006) using the most broadband double-chirped mirror pairs, optimized Kerr-Lens modelocking (KLM) and an optimized output coupler. As a result the laser generates, at 9 W of pump power, 0.6 W-1 W of output power with an output spectrum of more than one octave as measured on a linear scale. The spectrum...
