We fabricated a wavelength-division multiplexer for 0.78- and 1.56-μm light using multimode interference (MMI) in a direct-bonded LiNbO3 ridge waveguide. We obtained a low excess insertion loss of 1.0 and 0.5 dB for 0.78- and 1.56-μm light, respectively. We integrated a quasi-phase-matched (QPM) wavelength converter with an MMI multiplexer on one chip for the first time. We successfully demonstrated...
We demonstrate simultaneous all-optical half-adder, half-subtracter and AND/OR-functions at 160 Gbit/s. The various functions are produced in a PPLN waveguide through pump depletion as well as sum and difference frequency generation.
Summary form only given. This paper describes about the strategy and progress towards the generation of optical arbitrary waveforms based on femtosecond laser frequency combs. With octave-spanning spectra we lock the laser's optical frequencies to the repetition rate via second harmonic generation and f-to-2f comparison. We then further lock the resulting phase stabilized comb to a compact methane-stabilized...
We fabricate wavelength conversion modules for 3.4 and 2.3 micron difference frequency generation using the V-groove connection technique. Both modules exhibit high output powers of over 3 mW.
