The article is devoted to experimental studies and modeling of the fluctuations of analog-to-digital converter for dynamic authentication of computational devices. Modelling of phase trajectories of the fluctuation spectrum is made using the oscillator model. Phase portraits parameters allow to perform computer authentication. Temporary structures in the spectrum of the fluctuations are recorded experimentally.
At the high voltage laboratory at ETH Zurich switching arcs are investigated in order to understand the physical processes that determine the relationship between current and arc voltage in gas blast circuit breakers. Experiments are performed using a breaker prototype with many independently controllable parameters, and very versatile pulsed DC current source. Previous work showed that the gas pressure...
Different from the former stable low-frequency oscillation cases, the one of Xuzhou North Railway Hub which occurred in January 2014 is particularly extraordinary because it caused abnormal voltage fluctuations. By testing the locomotive and traction power supply system, we obtained the voltage and current data which were in low-frequency oscillation. Then, to further analyze the mechanism of this...
A new fundamental theory of ‘coupled processes’ is here applied to be able to explain and to some extent predict the observed instability and spectrum fluctuations of LC and crystal oscillators. The outcome is a ‘spectrum coupling’ theory which is based on the concept of coupled energy exchange between spectrum components. The origin of the coupling can be said to be ‘energy conservation’ as in the...
Simultaneous switching noise (SSN) is an important issue for the design and test and actual ICs. In particular, SSN that originates from the internal logic circuitry becomes a serious problem as the speed and density of the internal circuit increase. In this paper, an on-chip monitor is proposed to detect potential logic errors in digital circuits due to the presence of SSN. This monitor checks the...
Polymorphic gates can be considered as a new reconfigurable technology capable of integrating logic functions with sensing in a single compact structure. Polymorphic gates whose logic function can be controlled by the level of the power supply voltage (Vdd) represent a special class of polymorphic gates. A new polymorphic NAND/NOR gate controlled by Vdd is presented. This gate was fabricated and utilized...
The multifractional process is introduced as a natural extension of traditional monofractional process. The selling point of multifractional process is that its Hölder regularity is allowed to vary from point to point, such that makes it a promising model for those stochastic processes whose regularity evolves in time. A new wavelet-based algorithm to synthesize a realization of multifractional process...
The paper is devoted to study of physical causes of phase-noise of crystal oscillators associated with the crystal technology. It was found that this source contributes into the phase-noise though instability of the quartz - electrodes transition (QET) modulating the crystal parameters. A model linking the oscillator frequency fluctuations with instability of QET, equivalent parameters of the crystal,...
