A new series of high temperature copper based shape memory alloys has been investigated. These alloys contain 13.5wt%Al, 0.27 - 7.86wt%Nb and balance copper. The effect of copper addition to a Al-Si + graphite alloy on the hardening and precipitates morphology during ageing, was investigated.
