This paper presents the Quick Error Detection (QED) technique for systematically creating families of postsilicon validation tests that quickly detect bugs inside processor cores and uncore components (cache controllers, memory controllers, on-chip interconnection networks) of multi-core System on Chips (SoCs). Such quick detection is essential because long error detection latency, the time elapsed...
This paper proposes a method for modeling charging/swapping load distribution of electric taxi considering the taxi operation characteristic and facility limitation. With this method, Monte Carlo Method and Dijkstra Algorithm are adopted to simulate the electric taxi' operation behavior. A practical example is carried out to demonstrate the performance of the modeling method.
The development of the group work competence is something basic in university teaching. It should be evaluated, but this means to analyze different issues about the participation of a high number of students which is very complex and implies a lot of effort. In order to facilitate this evaluation it is possible to analyze the logs of students' interaction in Learning Management Systems. The present...
The development of simulator system as a support to repairable spare parts management is reported. Through the use of this type of tool is possible to evaluate the behavior of a multiechelon — multitem spare parts inventory as a function of different stock levels, minimizing shortages and restricted to a given budget. The simulation constitutes a useful tool to evaluate different decision alternatives
The problem of universally predicting an individual continuous sequence using a deterministic finite-state machine (FSM) is considered. The empirical mean is used as a reference as it is the constant that fits a given sequence within a minimal square error. A reasonable prediction performance is the regret, namely the excess square-error over the reference loss. This paper analyzes the tradeoff between...
Silicon Nanophotonics enables dense integration of electrical circuits with optical devices scaled down to diffraction limit. I will describe how chip-to-chip optical interconnects can be designed starting from devices up to a system level.
LED lighting is referenced as the forth generation green lighting with the great advantages of low power consumption, high luminous efficiency and long service life. Thermal management is one of the most important aspects of successful LED systems design. In this paper, a novel packaging structure for high power multi-chip LED was proposed and investigated. Firstly, Chip on Board (COB) technology...
We demonstrate a controlled-phase gate for continuous variables using a cluster-state resource of four optical modes. Its nonclassicality is verified through the presence of entanglement at the outputs for product-state inputs of two coherent states.
