Nonlinearity is an important parameter for judging the performance of the radiation instrument. As the laboratory equipment for testing solar radiation measuring instrument, the stability of solar simulator light source is crucial to nonlinearity testing. In this paper, a mesh attenuation method used for testing nonlinear error of solar radiometers is presented. Different mesh type attenuators with...
The number of foreign professional digital tester designed for frequency characteristic is not large and the cost is too high as well. What's more, homemade equipments are complex and bulky with low-accurate attenuator and no phase-frequency characteristic testing functions. To solve these problems, we studied on some key techniques such as the attenuation network design, phase difference measurement,...
Nowadays in the field of communication, leaky coaxial cables (LCX) are widely used and their performances always determine the capability of a whole communication system. Considering the testing characteristics of LCX, the proposed testing system is designed based on LabVIEW, a developing tool of virtual instrument. With the help of DAQ module and GPIB technology, the hardware part with high efficiency...
Ultrasound is a valuable tool for the detection of damage in structures and the characterization of material properties. Its detection is conventionally done by piezoelectric transducers, however fiber-optic sensors can operate over a greater range of frequencies and also yield information on the direction of wave propagation. The interaction between fiber sensors and ultrasound both demonstrates...
We present the use of swept wavelength interferometry for distributed fiber-optic temperature measurements in a nuclear reactor. The sensors consisted of 2-m segments of commercially available, single mode optical fibers. The interrogation technique is based on measuring the spectral shift of the intrinsic Rayleigh backscatter signal along the optical fiber and converting the spectral shift to temperature.
