Has elaborated economically-mathematical model of assessing the production risk associated with occupational injuries, based on the Mamdani's fuzzy inference method. The model includes assessment of risk associated with workers' safety and the risk assessment of the production profitability reducing due to occupational injuries. The practical application of the model can improve the effectiveness...
Methods for analyzing hazards related to individual systems are well studied and established in industry today. When system-of-systems are set up to achieve new emergent behavior, hazards specifically caused by malfunctioning behavior of the complex interactions between the involved systems may not be revealed by just analyzing single system hazards. A structured process is required to reduce the...
Because of the large distances, low temperatures and unpredictable weather in the Arctic, the existing search and rescue (SAR) resources will not be sufficient in certain situations and large loss of lives are at risk.
This paper is focused on the teaching of engineering ethics (EE). Through a focus on safety and the lens of what sociologists call the agency/ structure relationship it examimes various approaches to this teaching. Drawing on Critical Realism it argues there are deficiencies in both the dominant approach and a number of proposed alternatives as they suffer from various forms of conflationism. By drawing...
Dependability has only recently become a unified theory, developing its own taxonomy, lexicon and methods. This newly formed discipline now regroups concepts defined and developed within international rules corpus in different areas of engineering, such as: aerospace, automotive, computing, etc. Applications to marine sector are, at present, partial, lacking in terms of systematic approach and limited...
Frequent construction safety accidents worldwide not only result in increased investment cost, but also seriously affect the sustainable development of the construction industry and social stability. Combined with lean thinking, the effectiveness of lean management was explored to reduce all kinds of construction accident with injury and improve enterprise performance. The relation between lean thinking,...
This paper aims at applying ART-2 neural network algorithm on the research of coal mine safety risk assessment and finally obtains good empirical results by taking some coal mines as the study sample. The results show that the ART-2 neural network algorithm is an appropriate method to assess the safety risk of coal mine. The analysis of empirical results is consistent with the actual situation.
This paper presents the initial study on how major accident theories can contribute to major accident prevention in the planning process of offshore operation and maintenance activities.
The importance and related technology of safety problem were discussed from the view of safety system engineering "Huer 3D structure". It was pointed out that information technology was very important to safety. Information resources of safety were introduced as follows: It was suggested to enhance collection, arrangement, spread and application of safety information resources as well as...
This paper carries out coal mine safety risk identification from different ways and levels integrated with hierarchical holographic model (HHM), and realizes model construction through five aspects of coal mine disaster, personnel, equipment, environment and management. The paper proposes methods of risk filter and risk evaluation, accomplishes ranking of coal mine safety risk combining double standard...
As we all know, coal is an important basic resource which accounts for about 70% in the primary energy structure. Coal mining enterprises have the primary responsibility of the mine accident. Therefore, it is a great significance with researching the production strategy of coal mining enterprises. In this paper, we use the game theory to analyze the interest between safe-production of the coal mining...
Under the backgrounds of ‘law-based politics’ and ‘active development of democratic politics’ of China, issues related to accountability system for officials are becoming an important topic in this hotspots. Currently, in terms of mining disasters, a series of problems are still very common: a positive atmosphere of practicing accountability system for officials still has not been formed; laws and...
This paper examines the safety climate of a refinery in comparison to that of companies providing services in the area of maintenance, operating from the same refinery. The instrument used is a questionnaire that comprises ten subscales. In accordance with obtained data the employees of the subcontracting companies assess in a more negative way safety climate than employees of the contracting company...
The purpose of this paper is to solve the difficult problem that coal mine accident cannot be effectively contained by the government's severe consolidation, and to deal with the main stakeholders' conflict of interest and information asymmetry in coal mine safety regulation. Systematically, we analyzed the three-tier principal-agent relationships which formed in the coal mine safety supervision and...
With the development of information technology, the monitoring expert system of coal safety production is becoming a new topic in today's society. Because of the computer technology need and characteristics in the coal mining industry, this article's research object is the existing internet-based monitoring safety system of the coal mine production. The application of artificial intelligence and expert...
From the fact that human behavior is determined by both miners' intrinsic characteristics and external environment, the factors that may affect human behavior safety in metal underground mining are analyzed. Based on the analysis, countermeasures such as choose eligible miners and optimize environment are proposed, consequently to minimize the adverse effect and maximize the efficiency of miners matching...
Green Security Barrier is a non-tariff barriers in currently international trade which is applied by more and more developed countries to comply with, the barriers are in compliance with relevant national trade agreement and nominal reason is reasonable, especially China has been accession to the WTO, and unable to avoidable. At present, our country's many products have great lost because of suffering...
In this paper, we first conduct a detailed analysis of special equipment safety, and then on this basis, we propose countermeasures: develop and implement the safety production responsibility system, the periodic inspection system, uphold the system of certificates, correct use, careful maintenance. Finally, we use “electricity loss protection system of elevator” as an example to explain.
The situation of the safety production of enterprise is very severe in China due to the insufficient safety investment. The accounting has unique effect if using it to manage the safety investment activity. However, the accounting function in safety investment of enterprise in China does not effectively mobilized. Based on the factors, Current situation of accounting of safety investment of enterprise...
Model of compliance behavior is built based on system dynamics and safety management theory. Effects of different safety management measures on compliance behavior are simulated with production pressure. The simulation results show that management safety enforcement is not effective on safety alone with higher production pressure. Safety priority is the most effective policy and accident learning...
