Acrylic/maleic acid (PAA-PMLA) copolymer is a low biodegradable dispersing agent. Its interfacial behaviour is investigated at clay minerals which control the transport of organic compounds in the soil compartment. Adsorption affinities and surface coverage results indicate that binding sites are located on edge faces of clay minerals. contributions of long-range electrostatic (anion exchange reaction)...
Silver, palladium, and rhodium nanoparticles were prepared by heterogeneous nucleation in the interlamellar space of a layered kaolinite support. Disaggregation of the lamellae of nonswelling kaolinite was achieved by intercalation of dimethyl sulfoxide. The kaolinite was suspended in various metal precursor solutions and the adsorbed metal cations were reduced with NaBH4.The diameter of the silver...

The adsorption of pyridinium salts on kaolinite was investigated by measuring the adsorption density, the heat of displacement and the floatability. From the results, we can conclude that the adsorption occurs in three steps and depends very much on the counter ions of the surfactants.
