Pulsed thermionic emission from multiwalled carbon nanotube fibers has been demonstrated. From fibers with diameter of 150 μm we obtained an emission current of 16 μA at a repetition rate of 1 kHz. A comparison between our CNT fibers and a tungsten filament is also presented.
