Grid operators are tasked to balance the electric grid such that generation equals load. In recent years renewable energy sources have become more popular. Because wind and solar power are intermittent, system operators must predict renewable generation and allocate some operating reserves to mitigate errors. If they overestimate the renewable generation during scheduling, they do not have enough...
This paper considers the static state feedback mixed LQR/Hinfin control problem in the general case. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of all static state feedback controllers solving this problem are given in terms an algebraic Riccati equation depending on an admissible controller error. Also, an algorithm for calculating a kind of mixed LQR/Hinfin controllers is proposed.
An implicit H∞ self-tuning control scheme is presented. Costing of the system error and control signals is achieved using a dynamic cost function. The H∞ optimal solution to this problem is obtained using a recursive least square identification algorithm.
