We consider the problem of joint power control, scheduling and routing in energy harvesting sensor networks allowing for multicast of data generated at the sensor nodes to a set of sink nodes. In this setup we exploit broadcast nature of the channels and network coding to show performance improvement. We also develop computationally efficient suboptimal algorithms and study their performance.
In this paper we analyze the performances of multicast transmission in networks using random network coding. With network coding, the intermediate nodes combine the input packets into one or several output packets, instead of simply forwarding the packets as in the case of classical routing. The problem of network code design is to select what linear combination of input packets is used by each node...
We consider the problem of correcting errors and erasures with network coding. Unlike existing works which consider performance limits for worst-case locations of given numbers of errors and erasures, we consider the performance of given (not necessarily optimal) coding and forwarding strategies for given (not necessarily worst-case) models of error and erasure locations. Our approach characterizes...
The problem of multiple multicast sessions with intra-session network coding in time-varying networks is considered. The network-layer capacity region of input rates that can be stably supported is established. Dynamic algorithms for multicast routing, network coding, power allocation, session scheduling, and rate allocation across correlated sources, which achieve stability for rates within the capacity...
