A novel colloidal quantum dot-polyimide nanocomposite system aimed for integration with GaN-optoelectronics for color-conversion and visible light communications is reported. The nanocomposites' static and dynamic optical properties, including modulation responses, are assessed.
We have fabricated and investigated the effect of CdSe/ZnS quantum dot (QD) concentrations on self-assembly hybrid organic/inorganic light emitting diodes (QD-OLEDs). The uniform distribution of QDs with controllable density was achieved using the conventional spin-coating method. There was a QD threshold concentration below which there was no emission from the QDs. The estimated QD concentration...
The authors have designed and fabricated the colloidal quantum dot (QD) light-emitting diodes based on a thin CdSe/ZnS QD layer sandwiched by organic hole and electron transport layers. The device configuration can be depicted as ITO/PEDOT:PSS/poly-TPD/QD/BCP/Alq3/LiF/Al. The optimized light turn-on voltage is about 7 V and the maximum brightness is 141 cd/m2 at 11.5 V. It has been observed the second...
We evaluate an ordered organic-inorganic solar cell architecture based on CdS QD-decorated ZnO nanorod arrays encased in the hole-conducting polymer Poly(3-hexylthiophene-2,5-diyl) (P3HT). In this work, CdS quantum dot with different sizes were attached to the surface of the nanorods capped with mercaptopropionic acid. The results show that the CdS QDs on the ZnO nanorods increase both the open circuit...
We have demonstrated the fabrication and characterization of single-layered hybrid polymer-quantum dot light-emitting diodes (PQD-LEDs) with the emissive composite film of 2,3-dibutoxy-l,4-poly(phenylene vinylene) (DBPPV) and CdSe/ZnS core/shell quantum dots (QDs). The electrical and optical characteristics are significantly influenced by the thickness of the emissive layer. When the thickness of...
We report on the optical study of efficient excitation transfer in organic-inorganic hybrid thin films composed of alternating monolayers of CdSe/ZnS QDs and J-aggregate of cyanine dyes, by steady-state and time-resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy study.
Colloidally synthesized CdSe/ZnS core/shell semiconductor nanocrystals (NCs) show highly efficient, narrow-width and size-tunable luminescence. Moreover, they can be incorporated in polymer matrices and deposited on solid substrates by means of spin-coating techniques. When embedded between two mirrors a NCs/polymer blends microcavity is realised, thus allowing to tailor the photoluminescence spectrum...
