Device-to-Device (D2D) communication operating as an underlay to the cellular network has been lately exploited to facilitate proximity-aware services and data traffic offloading. While D2D communication has great potentials to improve wireless network spectral efficiency and energy efficiency due to the proximity of communication parties and a higher spectrum reuse gain, how to guarantee the coverage...
Considering the diversity of the LTE traffic Qos and the variable channel coverage caused by the time-frequency two-dimensional structure, a reasonable scheduling algorithm is proposed to enable the coverage of queues as large and close as possible and guarantee traffic Qos. Simulation results show that the new algorithm can ensure the coverage of channels as large and close as possible, while meet...
This paper analyses the use of filter combiners for sharing of antenna systems in cellular networks. Models for cell coverage and capacity are developed that directly relate the cell site count to combiner performance allowing the impact of filter combiners to be quantified and compared to alternative solutions.
