This paper aims at applying ART-2 neural network algorithm on the research of coal mine safety risk assessment and finally obtains good empirical results by taking some coal mines as the study sample. The results show that the ART-2 neural network algorithm is an appropriate method to assess the safety risk of coal mine. The analysis of empirical results is consistent with the actual situation.
