49 species belonging to the families Nymphalidae, Lycaenidae, Pieridae, Hesperiidae and Papilionidae were found in „Uroczysko Lipnik” and made about 28% of the total number of Rhopalocera species ever reported from Poland. In the study area found to be present Lycaena dispar. It is the only one protected species of Rhopalocera occurring in the study area.
Papilionoidea of the Biebrza valley were investigated. 93 species of Rhopalocera were found which makes 59.1% species recorded from Poland. The Biebrza National Park is a notable area with respect to protection of butterflies species in Poland.
