The paper deals with possibilities of geometry simplification for FE structural model calculating natural frequencies and mode shapes of rotor of small squirrel-cage induction motor. Proposed simplifications lead to the computing time savings while good result accuracy is preserved. All results are verified by experimental measurement.
This paper evaluates the performance of a 6/4 axial flux switched reluctance motor (AFSRM), with only one stator, considering the contribution of the mutual inductances on the torque. To estimate the self and mutual inductances, one computational approach based on the three-dimensional finite element method, was implemented. Different from the most conventional models of the radial flux SRM, this...
This paper presents an approach to facilitate the design of a microbolometer. It is based on three main steps: the construction of a simplified model in Matlab, automatic transfer of the generated model into ANSYS and the verification of the model using ANSYS FEM (Finite Element Method) simulation. The novel idea is the second step, realized using a special application, which reads the parameters...
The goal of this paper is to study the additional loss caused by Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), on the one hand in an axial flux permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM), and on the other hand in the voltage source inverter (VSI) that supplies the machine. Via a computationally efficient technique, the losses are computed in the stator iron and in the magnets of the axial flux PMSM with PWM supply...
Porous medium vacuum drying is a complicated heat and mass transfer process. Based on theory of energy and mass balance, a moisture model for vacuum drying porous medium was constructed. The model is implemented and solved with two-dimensions by finite element method (FEM). The temperature, moisture and pressure inner porous medium is discussed. The moisture temperature, and moisture and temperature...
Tower vacuum dryer is new drying equipment. Its heating is by hot water through the diamond pipes. So the hot water's flowing has important effect on drying quality. Based on fluid dynamics equation, k-epsiv model, the flowing characteristics in heating pipes was analyzed. The model is implemented and solved with three-dimensions by finite element method (FEM) using the software Gambit and Fluent...
