This paper presents the electromagnetic modelling and design of 77 GHz antenna array for automotive applications, in Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic. The designed single antenna element has a bandwidth of 6.75 GHz and a gain of 6.2 dBi. The 2times2 antenna array shows a gain greater than 11 dBi between 73 and 79 GHz.
To develop compact and thin antennas at UHF-band, a printed J-shaped monopole array antenna was discussed for reception of terrestrial broadcasting TV signals. This antenna consists of a folded J-shaped lambda/4 monopole antenna array fed by a coplanar waveguide. A simple matching circuit consisting of an open-ended slotted line and high impedance step section were installed between the antenna and...
The effective use of multiple antenna systems in compact terminal devices is plagued by the problems of mutual coupling and spatial correlation. Consequently, increasing the number of antennas per unit volume results in rapidly diminishing returns after an upper limit is reached. We review recent advances on this topic of closely coupled antennas, including several existing techniques that may be...
