We evaluate the performance of wavelength conversion based on injection locking in a Fabry-Perot laser (FPL). We compare the bit error ratio (BER) of the original and the converted signals at different optical signal to noise ratios (OSNRs). We demonstrate experimentally low-timing-jitter all-optical clock recovery for 40-Gb/s NRZ-DPSK signals using a mode-locked quantum-dot Fabry-Perot laser. The clock recovery performance shows a high tolerance to optical noise and signal waveform distortion.
