The mathematical formulation of a Daphnia sub-model was developed and incorporated into a one-dimensional, unsteady, advection/diffusion wastewater stabilization pond model. Toxic effects of ammonia, low dissolved oxygen, and hydrogen sulfide were included in the sub-model. The model and sub-model were calibrated, and showed reasonable agreement with population data collected during a field study.
