The affection of oxide scales formed during exposure of Cr steels in steam environments on the service of components is discussed. Numerical model of T92 tube with oxide scales inside is built in this paper. The influence of steam-side oxide scales on heat transfer of T92 tube is analyzed quantificationally. The results indicate that average temperature of the substrate increases approximately linearly...
We present the use of swept wavelength interferometry for distributed fiber-optic temperature measurements in a nuclear reactor. The sensors consisted of 2-m segments of commercially available, single mode optical fibers. The interrogation technique is based on measuring the spectral shift of the intrinsic Rayleigh backscatter signal along the optical fiber and converting the spectral shift to temperature.
Bulk nanostructured (Bi,Sb)2Te3 compounds and GeTe based amorphous/nanocrystal composites have been successfully fabricated by the combined hydrothermal/hot-pressing and quenching/annealing methods, respectively. The (Bi,Sb)2Te3 nanopowders synthesized by hydrothermal method exhibit a hollow-like structure. After hot-pressing, the nanoscale grains varying from tens to hundreds of nanometers were found...
