We present two novel contributions for multiplexing PET detectors. First, we develop a new theoretical framework for investigating multiplexing schemes for PET detectors using the theory of "compressed sensing" (CS). Second, we develop a new CS decoder that improves the multiplexing SNR. Because the photon events in PET are discrete, the detected photon signals are very sparse. CS theory...
The design and fabrication of a Snap-shot mode high speed ROIC for GaAs/AlGaAs QWIP FPAs was reported. The snap-shot CTIA input stage with pixel-level skimming increased the readout speed and integrated voltage swing. The column-shared CDS circuits improved the noise and speed performance under low power dissipation. The multiplexed sampling voltage is buffered to output with high speed output buffer...
We present an actively-switched multiplexed infrared photon-counting system that increases counting rates at telecom wavelengths via deadtime, afterpulsing, and background-count reduction. We report a factor of 5 count-rate increase with just two multiplexed detectors.
