Minęło kilka miesięcy od uchwalenia nowelizacji ustawy o zużytym sprzęcie elektrycznym i elektronicznym (ZSEE), a już widać braki i luki, jakie ona zawiera. Poszerzona została lista "zbieraczy" zużytego sprzętu o podmioty, które są w jego posiadaniu, czyli o punkty serwisowe i skupy złomu. Skutkiem tego będą one zobowiązane zarejestrować się w Głównym Inspektoracie Ochrony Środowiska.
Sejm RP 21 listopada 2008 r. przyjął ustawę o zmianie ustawy o zużytym sprzęcie elektrycznym i elektronicznym oraz o zmianie innych ustaw (DzU 2008 nr 223, poz. 1464). Regulacja wzbudziła wiele kontrowersji i przyczyniła się do zaangażowania się branży w prace przy jej projekcie. Nowela obowiązuje od 1 stycznia 2009 r., stąd też poproszono o opinie na temat zawartych w niej zmian.
