This paper presents the design and characterization of a miniaturized tunable bandpass filter utilizing high-Q ceramic coaxial resonators and commercially available RF-MEMS tunable digital capacitors. A proof-of-concept 2-pole tunable filter occupying only 10 × 10 mm2 is demonstrated with a frequency tuning range of 800–1100 MHz and bandwidth tuning range of 6–13%.
A new 4-pole dual-mode resonator filter is reported. The main feature of this dual-mode resonator filter is the suppression of the second harmonic, achieved by using composite- right/left-handed line in a ring resonator. The discrete capacitors used in the design have been carefully modeled and discussed. The filter was simulated using an em simulator and the optimized frequency response showed good...
A novel compact coupled planar resonator (CCPR) based VCO (voltage controlled oscillator) using mode-coupling technique was developed in response to expensive high Ceramic and SAW resonators based signal source for wireless communications. One of the problems related to the conventional Ceramic/SAW based resonators (with high Q and low phase noise) is the challenge for integration in IC form. Instead...
