The mathematical model of the experimental stand for vibration damping is described in the article. A vibration table is used as a source of vibration of different frequencies. Asynchronous motors are attached to the vibrating table from below. These motors are frequency-controlled and have eccentric disks on the shafts. Due to imbalance, the motors create a vibration that is transmitted to the upper...
The paper presents a system that allows the passive reduction of noise and vibration of a three-phase induction machine with a stator damper winding connected to capacitors. This is a simple and effective system for reducing the flux density harmonics of a machine. The theoretical study is based on the equivalent circuit of a machine equipped with the damper winding and the modeling is based on the...
The behavior of scissor action dry friction damper under harmonic loading has been presented. Finite element model was developed in PTC CREO and then imported in ANSYS to check the response with varying values of normal force (100N, 120N and 150N). A constant force of 20N is applied to excite the damper harmonically. Moreover the experiments are performed after fabricating the device to validate the...
Tool vibration is a frequent problem in the manufacturing industry where metal cutting operations take place. It affects the surface finish of the work piece, tool life, and produce irritating noise. In order to restrain tool vibration in metal cutting, it is necessary to develop and analyse suitable methods which increases stability and also improves the cutting performance. The present investigation...
In this paper, theoretical analysis and numerical simulation of a vertical vibrating system with an impact damper is presented. Different impacting forms are occurred in system under simple harmonic excitation. Phase diagram of periodic motion and temporal changes of velocity and displacement in time domain are given. Two important parameters of mass ratio and restitution coefficient are discussed...
In this paper, by introducing elastoplastic shear layer, a new microslip model was presented to analyze dynamic response of system with dry friction damper under high normal force, full stick, partial slip and full slip stage is considered when dry friction damper vibrates. Based on this model, vibration characteristic of dry friction damper was solved and analyzed by using equivalent linearization...
This paper deals with the resonance control of a test rig for vibrations in overhead transmission lines and corresponding nonlinear dampers (STOCKBRIDGE dampers). In the test rig, an electrodynamical shaker is used as an actuator and the input power is measured. Operating the rig requires the excitation of the mechanical system in resonance. A control law adjusting the frequency and amplitude of the...
A simulation of a new vibration isolation system using negative stiffness is proposed in this paper. The vibration isolation can be improved by incorporating a negative stiffness such that the dynamic stiffness is much less than the static stiffness. This paper is concerned with the nonlinear analysis using Harmonic Balance (HB) method of a High-Static-Low-Dynamic-Stiffness (HSLDS) system. The system...
In this paper, we propose a new method for estimation of parameters of a nonlinear system by low-pass filtered M-sequence. We applied the proposed method to a nonlinear vibratory system which consists of a mass, a damper and linear and nonlinear spring. From the results of the experiment, it is shown that the proposed method is effective in representing nonlinear property of the system.
