In this paper, a highly efficient and compact 840 MHz class-F amplifier using E-pHEMT FET is implemented with the minimal footprints, where only the 2nd and 3rd harmonics is controlled to obtain the high efficiency within the harmonic control circuit. Compared to the transmission line, the discrete LC network is a more suitable solution to the small-sized implementation when it is carefully designed...
A power amplifier (hereinafter referred as PA) for a transmitter of the bandwidth (30...180) MHz with output power of 1 kilowatt is designed. The amplifier is able to operate into load with KWR of 2,5. A power division bridge and a power addition bridge, a directional coupler, harmonic filter and 1 kilowatt artificial load-attenuator with VSWR les 1.2 were developed for the transmitter.
A class-F power amplifier at 5.8 GHz using a novel harmonic tuner based on a composite right/left handed (CRLH) transmission line (TL) is proposed and experimentally tested. The structure uses two open CRLH-TL stubs to suppress the 2nd, the 3rd, the 4th and the 5th harmonics and the fundamental frequency is matched to 50 Omega.
This paper presented the basic concept of a 2nd-HI technique that significantly enhances the efficiency of a GaN class-B PA. Experimental results were also presented. In our proposal, efficiency enhancements are achieved when the direct supply current decreases due to clipping in the drain current waveform after 2nd harmonic signal injection. In 2 GHz band experiments, it was confirmed that the direct...
This paper discussed an efficient way for modeling the power amplifiers, with the development of a new theoretical approach for the FET structures, where we can detect the presence of a source resistance. We check the analytical approach here proposed with some particular devices, and compare all results with those ones generated with an efficient platform used to simulated RF and microwave devices,...
In this paper, the macro nonlinear IMP distortion is analyzed in terms of the power spectrum (by this we mean here the envelopes of the power spectral densities) of the IMP order and the nonlinearity-independent IMP distribution density functions (DDF) of IMP composition types. This analysis of the 'micro' contributors to the overall IMP distortion highlights which composition types dominate the distortion...
A high-efficiency power amplifier using novel harmonic control circuit is realised with lateral depletion MOSFET. The proposed harmonic control circuit that is used to design input/output matching network has short impedance for second- and third-harmonics, and is superior to the class-F or inverse class-F harmonic control circuit. It is also shown that the maximum power-added efficiency of the proposed...
In this paper, TriQuint's BAW PCS duplexer chipset will be presented, showing it's performance in a PCS power-amplifier front end module (FEM). Besides having a low insertion loss and a high rejection and isolation, today's application requirements dictate that special attention has to be paid to non-linearity (harmonics). This applies to the behavior of the single TX/RX chips as well as the duplexer...
