This paper analyzes the influence on the force density of the spatial harmonics of the excitation voltage signal on each electrode of an electrostatic induction micromotor. We have used the lumped parametric equivalent circuit and demonstrated that the spatial harmonics are attenuated from stator to rotor.
This paper compares the radial vibration forces in 10-pole/12-slot fractional-slot SPM and IPM machines which are designed to produce the same output torque, and employ an identical stator but different SPM, V-shape and arc-shape IPM rotor topologies. The airgap field and radial vibration force density distribution as a function of angular position and corresponding space harmonics (vibration modes)...
Integrated starter and generator (ISG) is working as starter after vehicle idle stopping and generator during vehicle driving. When ISG works as starter to operate engine, ISG produces maximum power at the operating speed 4000 rpm to remove vibration of initial starting of the engine. In that time ISG produces whine noise which can be detected inside a vehicle. There are two methods to reduce the...
The design process of a switched reluctance drive for household applications is described. The machine requirements for modern household applications are summarized and the design process of a 150 W three-phase switched reluctance drive is described. During the process special attention was paid to the stator's mechanical resonance frequencies to assess influences of the acoustic noise. Also drive...
In this paper, electromagnetic vibration of interior permanent magnet (IPM) brushless motors under BLDC and BLAC operation mode is investigated. The electromagnetic field is calculated by 2D finite element analysis (FEA). The radial and tangential force distribution on the stator is also derived, and input to the structure transient finite element model. The corresponding vibration spectrum is predicted...
The detent force of the permanent-magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) is caused by the interaction between the permanent magnet and the iron core of the mover without input current. It is a function of the mover position relative to the stator. This paper proposes a control based method to reduce the detent force for the PMLSM. This detent force that can be predicted by finite element method is...
This paper deals with a study on the acoustic noise reduction according to the change of the pole angle in interior permanent magnet (IPM) motor with concentrated winding. This research is divided into 3 steps. Firstly, noise sources, such as resonant frequencies of stator and harmonic component of magnetic forces, are analyzed by the simulation and experimental results, respectively. Secondly, design...
