Design of miniaturized wideband filter in combline configuration using interresonator taps and interdigitally-coupled capacitive loading is described. The design is based on increasing the effective capacitance of the original quarter-wavelength combline resonator by engineering the loading interdigital capacitance at the open end of resonator, thus achieving the same resonant frequency by using a...
We propose a bandpass filter miniaturized by the composite right-handed and left-handed(CRLH) zeroth order resonators(ZORs). A 5th-order bandpass filter form a cascaded triplet(CT) to have a significantly sharp skirt for high frequency selectivity. First, we design an in-line ZOR bandpass filter whose total size is nearly 0.2 of the parallel-edge coupled filter. Second, we create multiple transmission...
In this paper, we present an effective technique to miniaturize a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) bandpass filter by using a double-sided complementary split ring resonator (DS-CSRR). With the proposed technique, the proposed DS-CSRR SIW filter provides a lower resonance frequency compared to a conventional complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) SIW filter thanks to the coupling effect between...
This paper presents design of a bandpass filter using a novel dual-mode miniaturized octagonal patch resonator. Two slots in orthogonal position are cut on the patch to reduce the resonance frequency. Two circular holes connected by a slot are used to perturb the two degenerate modes of the patch. The proposed filter is 64% smaller compared to an octagonal patch without any slots.
Three types of resonators and filters are described that belong to the family of broad-side coupled metal strip structure. Strong coupling between strips due to large mutual capacitance naturally increases the intensity of stored electric energy, resulting in a high effective permittivity for artificial dielectrics and a low resonant frequency for multi-strip resonators. Both features are useful for...
