Agents are prone to constitute virtual organization in the Internet to support novel application such as grid computing. Due to autonomous nature of agent, norm must be provided to control agent's behavior. This paper contends that norm formation process is an argumentation process, and import defeasible logic to formalize this process. Case study shows that norm can be formed in a seamless way in...
Ensuring the consistency of semantic links is an important issue for semantic link network. Reasoning with inconsistent semantic links or conflict rules may lead to erroneous conclusions. This paper first studies the compatibility relationships between different semantic link types and then proposes two algorithms for checking potential inconsistency in both schema level and instance level.
This talk will focus on the formal theory and nature of granular computing, concept analysis in Web informatics, and it will give a brief discussion on the problem of information propagation.
Resource Space Model (RSM) is a semantic data model for specifying, storing, managing and locating Web resources by appropriately classifying the contents of resources. Semantic Link Network (SLN) was designed to establish semantic relationships among various resources aiming at extending the hyperlink network World Wide Web to a semantic-rich network. For locating and analyzing the relationships...
Digital Earth (DE) is a virtual presentation of the planet based on geographic coordinate, and is an information system with tremendous amount of multiple resolutions and multiple scales data as shown in multiple dimensions. It can visualize the real earth and represent historical phenomena in digital way by using the large amount of data of the earth, and utilizing the computer techniques, image...
We developed a quality of service (QoS) management system to support service level management (SLM) for global enterprise services. The QoS management system is integrated with one of our enterprise services in a preproduction system, an identical system as the production system but in a test environment. Lab experiments showed that our integrated solution helps global enterprise services to better...
