In this paper we consider the state reconstruction problem with Boolean measurements for a genetic network governed by a piecewise affine (PWA) model. A Luenberger-like observer is proposed and we undertake an investigation of its convergence rate. The approach of Filippov is used to define the solution on the surface of discontinuity. In particular sliding modes may occur in some cases and this leads...
This work, presents the design of a Joint State-Mode observer for SLS, where the state of both parts, continuous and discrete, are observed The continuous part is represented by a family of linear systems (LS) and the discrete part is represented by an interpreted Petri net (IPN), enlarging the class of systems that can be represented and adding structural information to the system. The design of...
Control of a class of nonlinear/uncertain systems is discussed via a variable structure systems (VSS) approach. Observation of the states of such systems is also considered. The natural extension to an observer-controller design is illustrated using an example of a ??-r manipulator. Finally, the aspects of hardware implementation of the proposed observer-controller are analyzed.
