This paper proposes a ranging algorithm for impulse-radio ultra-wideband signals compliant with the IEEE 802.15.4a standard. The algorithm is suited for non-coherent receivers and is implemented in digital form. The achievable ranging accuracy depends on the sampling rate. Ranging errors on the order of 40 cm are obtained with a rate of 1 GHz at SNR=20 dB.
In this paper the Duffing oscillator is applied to solve high transmitter power consumption and high probability of intercept of underwater mine. A chaotic oscillator has the property of being sensitive to weak signal and being immune to noise, which leads to a potential application in weak signal detection. The weak signals can be used as the outside periodic exciter and be brought in the Duffing...
Emission spectroscopy of plasma-excited chemical species is widely used for generalized chemical analyses in bench-top systems. This paper explores the use of pulsed microdischarges between two and three electrode microstructures, which operate in air at atmospheric pressure, for use in handheld chemical analyzers. Pulsed microdischarges are fired between two-electrodes spaced apart by 0.2-2 mm. Synchronized...
