Audition is a rich source of spatial, identity, linguistic and paralinguistic information. Processing all this information requires acquisition, processing and interpretation of sound sources, which are instantaneous, invisible and noisy signals. This can lead to different responses by the system in relation to the information perceived. This paper presents our first implementation of an integration...
In this paper, investigate the relation between emotions represented by speech and features included in speech. There are two kinds of approaches in comparing experiment. Firstly, speech data are non-verbal such as white-noise, sine wave and vowel /a:/, so that investigate the relation between emotions and prosodic features only. Secondly, speech data include verbal information such as `ohayou'(hello),...
This contribution introduces a software framework enabling researchers to develop real-time pattern recognition and sensor fusion applications in an abstraction level above that of common programming languages in order to reduce and minimize programming errors and technical obstacles. Furthermore, a proof of concept using two separate instances of the process engine on different computers with audiovisual...
We examined if entertainment-robots should use emotions. In an experiment we presented jokes to participants to find out if different emotions have different effects on their pleasure. We found out that emotions do have an impact on userspsila perceptions when using entertainment robots.
In this paper minimal representation of voiced speech based on decomposition into AM-FM components is proposed for generation of emotion speech. For the decomposition, firstly time-frequency boundaries of AM-FM components are estimated and secondary each AM-FM component is extracted by using the variable bandwidth filter adaptive to the estimated time-frequency boundaries. Finally, two parameters,...
