We propose a simple efficient machinery for computing “nearly exact” boundary of the image of euclidean ball under multidimensional quadratic mapping. It is based on necessary conditions for a point to be mapped to the boundary. Several special cases are considered, the results of numerical simulations are presented, in particular, as applied to multiobjective optimization and Pareto set discovery.
The paper introduces the notion of an eigenvalue of a nonlinear time-delay system. It is shown that the respective object, playing the role of an eigenvalue, is a specific non-commutative polynomial, as it is invariant under a change of coordinates. The basic properties and possible applications of such a formalism are then discussed. Namely, the transformation of a nonlinear time-delay system into...
The structural-parametrical design of discrete control systems with the Luenberger observer was carried out. To simplify the choice of Luenberger observer eigenvalues proposed to use the optimization procedure that minimizes the condition number.
In this paper we present a formation control approach based on Gaussian potential functions, each parametrized by an agent-related control parameter. This results in different characteristics of attractive and repulsive forces among agents and targets, as well as among agents themselves and dependence of the formation's potential structure on the change of agent's configurations. Furthermore, we show...
Simple adaptive output control for a class of linear uncertain plants corrupted by disturbance is proposed in the paper. The control law guarantees the robustness of the closed-loop system and exponential convergence of the control error to the neighborhood of zero equilibrium. The main advantage of the proposed approach consists in its simple structure. The control low involves one adjustable parameter...
The algorithm of the interval observer design for a class of nonlinear systems with parametric uncertainty is considered. It is shown that the observer allows to derive an interval that contains the actual value of the state at a given time. The main condition of such a device construction deals with a cooperativity of the interval estimation error dynamics. The question of the selecting the individual...
In order to simplify the dense data of point cloud efficiently, this paper proposes an algorithm which is quick and easy to simplify the point cloud based on the standard deviation of the normal vector. First of all, the normal distribution have to be calculated after getting the dense point cloud data which has been down sampled. Second of all, calculate the separation threshold value between the...
One of the most important challenges when applying multiple-model approaches is model-set design. However, to our knowledge, there are not general rules to choose models. For this purpose, we recently proposed an approach based on the Jeffrey's divergence to characterize dissimilarities between two state models. In this paper, our contribution is to use the Jeffrey's divergence to classify at least...
Network formed between users in a social media can be used to encourage information spreading among them. This research applied Social Network Analysis which further can be used to social media marketing to improve the marketing process effectively. Based on previous research, information spreading speed among the social media is affected by the users' activity connection which can be represented...
In this paper, we propose a novel feature extraction method called double sparse local Fisher discriminant analysis (DSLFDA), which is an extension of the local Fisher discriminant analysis (LFDA) algorithm. The proposed method combines the idea of sparse representation to construct an adaptive graph to describe the structure information of the samples. Meanwhile, to obtain the sparse projection vectors,...
A data fusion approach based on eigenvalues and eigenvectors of relation matrix of multi-sensor is proposed. Features of relation matrix are extracted and the information of relation matrix is fully utilized by eigenvalues and eigenvectors of relation matrix. This approach overcomes the problem of influenced by expert experience in threshold settings by the optimal sensor group selected through fusion...
We consider the uplink of a multi-cell multiuser multiple-input multiple-output time-division duplexing (TDD) system. The data detection is done by using MMSE filer taking pilot contamination into consideration. Employing the equivalent channel model of MMSE channel estimation, we find an interesting characteristic of user's SINR. In view of the characteristic, we derive new, exact closed-form expressions...
We present an approach for 2D sensor network localization when only bearing measurements are available and no global coordinate frame is known. Our work builds off of the linear constraint given in Kennedy et al. (2012) for sets of nodes that form triangles. We extend that constraint to general networks and present methods for locally optimizing the resulting cost function. We also show how these...
In an recent paper, we have proposed a general complete parametric solution in a simple and neat analytical closed form to a type of rectangular high-order Sylvester matrix equations with the parameter matrix F being an arbitrary matrix. Based on this result, in this paper we are presenting, for a type of rectangular high-order Sylvester matrix equations with the parameter matrix F being in a Jordan...
Motivated by control tasks in neuro-prosthetic systems, a method for the exact discretisation of continuous-time LTI systems in presence of irregular actuation and sampling times is presented. In this approach, sequences for the desired sampling and actuation times form additional inputs to the discrete-time systems. An analytical evaluation for a class of practically relevant systems is presented...
Control design for distributed parameter systems usually makes use of either finite volume or finite element approximations of the governing partial differential equations (PDEs). The aim of using both finite volume and finite element models is to obtain a finite-dimensional state-space representation of the dynamics which can be used directly for the design of feedback or feedforward controllers...
In this paper we propose an algorithm for 2D antenna array that can be used in ground surveillance systems. Due to the multipath propagation of signals robustness against imperfect knowledge about direction of arrival (DOA) is needed. We achieve the needed robustness by using two dimensional Slepian window functions. Although main interest of our research is surveillance, results of it may be also...
This paper presents a novel locally linear KNN method with an improved marginal Fisher analysis for image classification. First, the discriminating color space (DCS), which is derived by discriminant analysis of the red, green, and blue primary colors, is integrated into the proposed method. Second, an improved marginal Fisher analysis (IMFA) applies an eigenvalue spectrum analysis to improve the...
The optimization of the observation geometry is very important for multi-sensor target tracking. This paper performs analysis of the Fisher information matrix obtained using the passive measurements, and analyzes the influences to the tracking performance by the observation geometry factors like the distance and the angle, therefore obtains the optimal criteria for the sensor selection in target tracking.
Clustering aims at partitioning unlabelled data samples into clusters so that the samples within a cluster are close to each other. One of the most challenging issues in cluster analysis is the determination of true clusters. This challenge becomes more intriguing in case of hierarchical clustering techniques that requires dynamic termination of the clustering process at true conception of clusters...
