In the past decades, there has been an implicit explosion of absorption in Artificial Intelligence (AI) field. AI supplies robust and flexible means for acquiring solutions to a diversity of problems that often cannot be solved by other, more traditional and orthodox methods. Nowadays, its use is increasing rapidly in many sectors of complicated practical problems. Meanwhile, electrical energy demand...
With the exponentially growing amount of information available on the Internet, an effective technique for users to discern the useful information from the unnecessary information is urgently required. Cleaning web pages for web data extraction becomes critical for improving performance of information retrieval and information extraction. So, we investigate to remove various noise patterns in Web...
In this paper, we present a novel method for clustering web objects. Most of existing methods aren't sufficient to explore similar objects, because the basic data, which include attributes of objects, click-through data, and link data, are often sparse, scarce or difficult to obtain. In contrast, the information we exploit is transaction log, which is more common, denser as well as noisier. To reduce...
In this paper, we consider blind interference suppression in IR UWB communication system, and the means of a statistical technique called independent component analysis (ICA), taken as a solution for the coexistence of impulse-radio Ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) systems with other wireless systems was studied. Particularly for the evaluation of the system performance, tone, multiton, and partial-band interference...
The purpose of this paper is to present a novel technique for conducted-noise reduction in DC-DC switching regulators. In order to effectively spread the conducted-noise frequency spectrum and, at the same time, attain a satisfactory voltage regulation, two parameters (carrier frequency and pulse position) have been randomized, and the third parameter (duty ratio) has been controlled by a digital...
We study a multi-source Gaussian relay network consisting of K source-destination pairs having K unicast sessions. We assume M layers of relays between the sources and the destinations. We find achievable degrees of freedom of the network. Our schemes are based on interference alignment at the transmitters and symbol extension and opportunistic interference cancellation at the relays. For K-L-K networks,...
This paper presents a new filter by the combination of Progressive Switching Median (PSM) and Vector Median Filter (VMF). Based on the impulse noise detection, the proposed filter can remove salt-and-pepper noises for color images while preserving the image details well. Experimental results show that the proposed filter achieves better than PSM or VMF used alone.
In this paper, a new numerical method for resolving and reconstructing signal is described . This method is based on a modified Mobius Transformation. We will introduce its application in separating signals from the noise. The results will show that this method is very convenient, its data memory capacity is small, hence, this method enjoys a much brighter applicable prospect.
In order to reduce interfering signal components for hearing aids, a complete noise reduction system is described which consists of monaural and binaural beam-formers and a single channel noise reduction for further enhancement. Firstly, the monaural part combines the two or three microphones of each side of the head to adaptively suppress non desired sources outside the line of sight. Secondly, binaural...
The interference cancellation ratio (ICR) is influenced by the zero offsets of the devices in the weight branches. The gains in weight branches are moved to error feedback loop to guarantee ICR without influencing the convergence speed. The limiter is used to protect the multipliers thus the system becomes a nonlinear system. Through the describing function method and simulation, the stability, dynamic...
Current Alamouti's reception scheme for multiple input multiple output (MIMO) communication systems may fail to work when strong interferences exist in the MIMO channel. This paper analyzes and compares three reception schemes for MIMO systems using orthogonal space-time block codes (OSTBCs) suffered directional interferences. These schemes include conventional maximum likelihood decoding (MLD) scheme,...
External impulsive interference (IMI) will severely degrade the performance of an Over-the-horizon radar (OTHR), and detection and suppression of IMI in strong clutter environment is the prerequisite for the target detection. This paper proposes a novel method based on the signal subspace properties, aiming at effectively detecting IMI with easy or without clutter suppression. Selective survey on...
Using power plane applied spiral resonators, GBN and SSN can be suppressed through very wideband from 0.22 GHz to 12.5 GHz under -25 dB. Also, the designed spiral resonator is just located on the intersection between power plane and power via, and the diameter of resonator is 3 mm. Due to the localized small size of resonator, the degree of freedom for power plane design and signal integrity for guaranteed...
Noise mechanism of coherent laser radar range image is demonstrated in this paper. Shortcoming using traditional median filtering to suppress range anomalies is analyzed. Range anomalies suppression method of range image based on sorting-difference and self-adaptive median filtering is put forward. Firstly, sorting and difference is carried out for pixels within larger filtering window. Secondly,...
Marine seismic data are often contaminated by linear noise which has high amplitudes. The recorded noise degrade the quality of marine seismic data. To obtain the desirable data, we should suppress the noise with minimal impact on the desirable data. Considering the characteristics of the curvelet transform, we present a method of removal of the linear noise in the curvelet domain. The proposed method...
As bees and crystals (and people selling oranges in the market) know it for many years, lattices provide efficient structures for packing, covering, quantization and channel coding. In the recent years, interesting links were found between lattices and coding schemes for multi-terminal networks. This tutorial paper covers close to 20 years of my research in the area; of enjoying the beauty of lattice...
Micro manipulation technology is demanded for many fields such as engineering, medical fields, and biological disciplines. Macro-micro bilateral control is essential technique to realize micro manipulation with force feedback. However, viscosity friction in micro environment is problem when the system conducts unconstrained motion. Moreover, the signal noise of position encoder is also problems. This...
In this paper, bias-compensated least squares (BCLS) method is proposed in order to estimate a plant under feedback control when the noise is colored. The feedback controller is assumed to be linear time invariant discrete-time system and the feedback system is assumed to be asymptotically stable. The aim of the proposed method is to reduce the computational cost which will be required for the conventional...
Cooperative relaying methods have attracted a lot of interest in the past several years. A conventional cooperative relaying scheme has a source, a destination and a single relay. This cooperative technique can support one symbol transmission per time slot, called full rate transmission. However, existing full rate cooperative relay approaches have asymmetrical diversity gains for different symbols...
With the popularity of multiple power domain (MPD) design, the multi-domain power network noise analysis and minimization is becoming important. This paper describes an efficient heuristic algorithm to arrange the power-up sequence in a multi-domain power network in order to minimize the noise. We present a formulation of this problem and show it is NP-complete. Therefore, we propose a simulated annealing...
