Cardiomyocyte Monitoring
In article number 2202235, Chunyu Chang, Donghui Zhang, and co‐workers develop micropatterned hydrogels with anisotropic structural colors by locking shear‐oriented tunicate cellulose nanocrystals (TCNCs) in hydrogel networks through in situ polymerization. The autonomous beating of cardiomyocytes drives synchronous deformations of the micropatterned hydrogels, causing periodic changes in transmittance colors. This system has potential as a high‐throughput assay to visually monitor cardiomyocyte function.
