When treatment planning and execution are carefully performed, complications with implant surgery and implant restoration may be relatively simple and easy to resolve, although the literature pertaining to treatment alternatives following the loss of dental implants could best be described as limited. Solutions to implant failures must be addressed individually on a case‐by‐case basis and a interdisciplinary approach is highly recommended. This chapter will concentrate on situations in which implant complications have become an esthetic REFIID, as well as discuss evaluation of the surrounding areas, ways to avoid esthetic problems, and treatment possibilities that promote excellence in implant esthetic rehabilitation.
