This article presents the composition and investigation of asymmetrical Swastik‐shaped aperture coupled cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (cDRA). This antenna structure contains 3 attractive features: (1) Plus‐shaped aperture stimulates dual hybrid mode inside the cDRA, which help to obtain broadsided radiation properties; (2) conversion of plus to asymmetric Swastik‐shaped aperture added circular polarization feature in the proposed radiator; (3) dual‐sense CP wave is another important feature. To validate the proposed radiating structure, prototype has been practically constructed and measured. Experimental data confirms that the proposed antenna functions over dual frequency ranges that are, 2.2‐2.45 and 3.0‐3.55 GHz with the percentage bandwidth of 10.75% and 16.79%, respectively. Practically measured axial ratio confirms that the proposed radiator is capable to create CP waves in dual frequency ranges that is, 2.32‐2.45 and 3.0‐3.32 GHz. Input as well as far‐field parameters confirm its applicability for Wireless Local Area Network (2.4 GHz) and Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (3.3 GHz) applications.
